  Description

  An off-grid 1.5 hectare property in a beautiful jungle setting. The house is solar-powered, with water capture from the roof, solar hot water, and fibre-optic internet connection. It has stunning views, overlooking cow pasture, jungle and the Panama mountains and is about 7 km from Puerto Viejo.
  I am in the process of finishing the construction of the house, building a natural swimming pool, and developing the land. I have planted about 100 fruit and nut trees from around the world and have built 4 ponds where I will be raising tilapia.
  Additionally, I have about 4 hectares of jungle property nearby, bordering protected primary rainforest, where I have planted a food forest containing about 200 fruit and nut trees.
  The Workawayers would have their own private room and bathroom, and we would work together on DIY of the house and natural swimming pool, and various tasks around the garden and, learning from each other. I'm experienced in permaculture but have very little experience in DIY. The infrastructure of the house has already been built and five bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen and a large 100 sq metre deck / yoga platform have already been completed and being used and lived in. We will be completing a cooking area on the deck. A new exciting project will be the building of a natural swimming pool and a regeneration area for the pool. No chlorine needed! The garden has also mostly been planted but I would like to continue to build food forests and other infrastructure.
  In their free time Workawayers can hike through the lush rainforest, birdwatch locally, or alternatively take a 1 hour bus ride to nearby beaches and towns such as Puerto Viejo and Bri Bri, where there is plenty of surfing, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, chocolate tours etc, as well as shops, restaurants and bars.
  This location is most suitable for nature lovers.

  I am looking for help with DIY on the house development, such as painting, woodwork etc., building a new natural swimming pool, and in maintaining and expanding the garden The preferred stay would be about one to two weeks, and maybe more if it works out, but that is flexible. No smokers please. Minimum age 25.

  Accommodation

  A private bedroom in a shared 3 bedroomed house. There will be hot water for showers! Cooking facilities and fridge space will be available in the shared kitchen. Food will not be supplied, although fruit and vegetables are usually available from the garden.

  What else ...

  This site is most suitable for people who enjoy nature. The surrounding development is 125 hectares, most of which is jungle, but there are also ponds and maintained roads to gain access, as well as some privately owned properties. It is not suitable for anyone who needs to be near shops, restaurants and bars etc. The nearest transport is a bus stop about 25 minutes walk away. The bus goes to Bri Bri, Puerto Viejo, San Jose etc. The nearest grocery store is 1.5 kilometres away. Occasional transport will be available when I drive to Puerto Viejo or Bri Bri etc. to go grocery shopping. I usually go to town about twice a week.
