    Description

Help us maintain/renovate our Corsican olive-oil mill near a small mountain village in the Balagne-region. There are numerous maintenance projects, so this would really best suit someone who has some masonry and carpentry skills.

This is an old olive oil mill, situated in a valley below a tiny mountain village. We are about a 20-25 minute drive from some amazing beaches and from the nearest town. Our property is at the end of a cul-de-sac, along a creek with waterfalls, and with numerous terraces which used to be cultivated (fruit trees, etc.)

If you are an artist (sculptor/woodworker, for example) there is the possibility to set up a studio/atelier in the huge basement.

This would fit someone who would like to improve their French. I speak English, French, German, and Swedish fluently; Spanish conversationally.

I'm very knowledgeable about Corsican history, culture, and architecture, which I'm always happy to share.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Private room with a queen-size bed. This is for one person only. Sorry, no couples and no families!

Meals to be shared. I would provide the food. (I'm a chef, but it would be fun to occasionally cook together). 3 healthy meals/day cooked with love and mainly using local organic in-season ingredients. I'm happy to prepare mostly vegetarian meals.

It's a big house, but currently, there is only 1 bathroom, which we would have to share. There is a huge living room/kitchen with a wood stove.

    We have fiber optic internet/WiFi.

Please be available to commit for at least 3 weeks -1 month.

    What else ...

We're pretty flexible, but we'll be looking for help for about 15-20 hours per week. The rest of the time would be yours.

You would need to have your own car, as this is a remote location and there is no public transportation at all. The nearest town is a 25-30 minute drive away.

If you have an accident-free International Driver's license, and if you know how to drive a manual car, then there is the possibility to borrow one of our cars.

We have a young female Border Collie/ Golden Retriever mix. She gets along well with friendly well-behaved neutered male dogs, but not at all with other females. We also have two skittish feral (outdoor) cats who are quite territorial so we can not accept other cats on the property. Feel free to tell me more about your pet(s)...
