Thanks to everyone who has helped us so far.
Single mum of two doing up a house with help of parents. Also have a garden with mature orchard. Baby son is one and daughter is four. At the moment I am hoping to get as much grown as possible. Due to a back injury my garden is a bit wild. May and June are always buys months in the garden. I like to cook and do DIY when I get a chance.
We get up between 7 & 8 and kids go to bed around 19.30. In between I try to do a few things in the garden or work on the house and my father sometimes comes to do some work in the morning or afternoon. My daughter attends montessori five mornings a week. We have one dog and two cats.
The house water supply is from rainwater so we like to save water, I am into permaculture and like to be eco-conscious as much as possible. I can help people improve their english, give tips in organic horticulture, photography and some areas of DIY. We live simply and try to avoid polluting our environment and live in harmony with nature.

This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Would like people who are environmentally conscious and interested in gardening and nature as well as children.
It is a bit like being John Seymour here as we try to do everything ourselves and recycle as much as possible. Hoping to have some fresh food to eat but need help to keep this going at the moment. The work which is taking place right now is mainly getting the garden up and running again.
There is a lot of work to be done within the house - painting, tiling and simple woodwork. There is also an extenstion to be completed and a lean-to greenhouse to be built. When (or should i say if!) the weather is better the main construction work would be done and there would be a lot of garden work then too. In the autumn and winter the orchard needs to be cleaned up and there is pruning to be done, the greenhouse also needs to be cleaned.
Liking animals and babies is a no brainer.
Anyone willing to try anything and interested in learning new things welcome.
Help with making food and general keeping the house clean is also expected as part of sharing a home. I try to make people feel part of the family and it is nice to see what ideas and input people can bring to the table. Good communication is important
The house is currently under renovation. it is very open plan so if this does not bother you and you would have your own private space. hoping that as the building work progresses there would be a more private area for anyone coming here. in the process of extending but this takes time when you are doing the work yourself. There is a bed in a front room downstairs in the house for visitors. Also a sofa bed available and space for people on sleeping bags, etc if required
Buses run from the next nearest town which is 4km away. There is a forest park nearby. Other amenities and attractions in the town are open from April to October. We are close to an inland lake and about an hour from Galway city.
