Description
Hi! My name is Hayley and my husband's name is François.
We are both in our 50s and we have 4 adult children.
Only the youngest lives at home now.
I am British/French/Irish. François is French.
We regularly host students, or people in difficulty (Ukrainians at the moment), and we host a lot of friends and family, so it is a busy, fun house! But, we also have quieter moments, because we enjoy our peace too!
My family and I came to live in Malta nearly ten years ago, for professional reasons, and we have lived in this house since 2020. We enjoy making a few changes here and there to upgrade it a bit.
François is a busy lawyer and legal advisor in the maritime field, and I keep very busy helping run a family business, as well as teaching sometimes, participating in voluntary work that I am passionate, about and of course caring for my family.
We all speak several languages and I was an English teacher for many years.
We are simple, no fuss people who work hard and enjoy life!
We offer private accommodation for Workawayers. It is a newly built studio apartment on our property, with a completely separate entrance, large shower room and fully equipped kitchen/dishwasher/washing machine etc...Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
My family is multi cultural, well-travelled and between us we speak several languages.
We are interested in many aspects of life and we enjoy discussing and debating about anything, from politics, to traveling, to current affairs.
Malta has two official languages...Maltese and English.
This little country is safe, sunny, friendly and has a very rich cultural heritage.
Malta is truly a melting pot where nationalities from everywhere blend in well!
This country is also a great place for different types of sports, such as diving, swimming and sailing.
The sea is very near our house and swimming is possible all year.
Access from/to most European cities is easy and quick because our airport is very efficient.Help
Our 19 year old daughter has chosen Spanish as a High School subject, and she has her finals in the spring.
She is looking for some help.
Any interaction in Spanish would be useful...speaking, reading, listening, writing etc.
There will be opportunities to cook together, visit Malta together, engage in discussions, share a book and discuss it, etc...
Basically, any nice person whose native language is Spanish, and who loves languages, will be a great candidate.
The hours will depend on my daughter's schedule, but it will never be more than a few hours per day.
We can discuss exact details and agree on what will work for you.
You will have the opportunity to attend classes for English while you are in Malta if you wish, or participate in activities around the island, because your schedule will be flexible.Languages

Our 19 year old daughter needs help with Spanish for her final exams. Advanced level teachers only, please. I am a language teacher, with 30 years experience in teaching English as a foreign language. I can assist you with your goals in English if you wish. I also teach French.Accommodation
Private accommodation provided
We have recently renovated a small annex into a new studio apartment of about 22sqm. The little apartment has a private, separate entrance, shower room/toilet/sink, washing machine, fitted kitchen and a large bed/sofa bed. The electricity is new, with modern air conditioning.
The architect who did the job used quality materials because comfort is important to us.
PLEASE NOTE :
The studio is available at certain dates in April and May.
If you want to stay in Malta longer, we can discuss options.
I am new to this website so I am just exploring ideas at the moment.
Thank you for taking that into consideration.
We do not wish to include meals in the package for the simple reason that my husband and I both work a lot and travel a lot, so our meals are not always taken regularly.
NOTE : We do not require a lot of hours of help to compensate for the fact that meals are not included.
However, we often have guests/friends for dinner/lunch, so we would be happy to invite you to join us for some fun family meals when the occasion arises.
You will be living quite independently from the main house and you will have the possibility to do another job if you need/wish because there are plenty of opportunities in our area for casual, paid work. What else ...
You can never get bored in Malta!
The local bus terminal, called BUGIBBA, is a few minutes' walk away and Malta is extremely rich in so many things...nature/sports/culture/history/beautiful architecture/street festivals...the list goes on and on!
Or, if you just want to take a day off to relax, the sea front is 100m away and the sunsets are spectacular!
The local restaurants are inexpensive and friendly, and there is a lot of choice of what and where to eat.A little more information
