    Description

    We are a small family owned cattle ranch. Our operation consists of about 40 cow/calf pairs. They are fed on the home ranch during the winter and go out onto the range during the summer months. Summer operations include: checking cattle out on range, growing and harvesting hay crops, tillage for re-seeding, fence maintenance.

    Training on farm equipment and ATVs may be made available.
    Recreational activities can include: back country hiking, wildlife viewing, horseback riding, fishing and canoeing on the many lakes in the area. There are other helpers on ranches nearby to socialize with.
    Our community hosts an annual gymkhana in June, a gospel music jamboree in August, as well as farmers markets throughout the summer.
    A local church, library, store with post office, a restaurant and health clinic are located 10 km away in Tatla Lake.
    Several rodeos take place in nearby communities, and the Williams Lake Stampede is an annual event in July.

    We would like help with irrigating the hay fields (2 wheel lines and 4 sets of hand lines need to be moved twice a day), fence construction and repairs, checking the cattle on the range, gardening and various other daily chores. We are looking for someone that is self-motivated, able to work alone or as part of a team and has a good work ethic.
    The work hours will vary from day to day, based on the season and what needs to be done. We are paying an hourly wage of $16.75 or higher depending on skill level.

    A small self-contained renovated cabin with cooking, bathroom and laundry facilities, suitable for a single or couple.
    The cabin has a TV w/DVD player and telephone; wifi is avail. at the main ranch house.
    Guests will be mainly cooking their own meals with occasional shared meals with the host.
