    Description

I’m Ibrahim Menya, 33years of age from a family of 5 born and raised in Uganda 🇺🇬 the Pearl of Africa.
I’m a graduate who studied a bachelors degree in business administration specialized in marketing.
Apparently I’m working as a tourist and safari driver guide and founder of our community foundation.
I lost my father in 2000 at the age of 10 and this left me with no hope of having no further education as my father didn’t have a proper source of income since he was a peasant farmer. My mother sells bananas and this has always been her from the Time I was born. Life became very difficult for her to look after us as she didn’t get much to support us at school.
In 2004, at our primary school , we got a chance to have an internee from Notre Dame university in the US called Ben Wilson who came as Mathematics teacher, because he got to know about my family and I was the best at his subject, he managed to get me a sponsor on his return to the US who supported me with my education fees to some level because I could miss classes for having no books, and also failing to pay school fees. This prompted me to work so hard later that I had to pay for my university.

When I started working as a safari guide, we could come across so many kids living the same life I lived, walking long distances bare footed to school, staying hungry during school time, having no school materials like books and pens.

This touched me a lot and thought of starting up an organization, its' name means “ Rise” and the main purpose is to help improve and support the lives of people especially school going children.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Associating with new people from a different culture will help them learn develop a stronger relationship including new African culture that they may not be used to and also help them introduce their new culture to the community people and this would be a great experience to them.

    Help

We would like to have all kinds of help needed to gear up our community schools with necessary skills like reading , teaching, art , sports and games, health among others as most teachers here take on classes in our local language which doesn’t help children much since they’re examined in English.
