  Description

  We are a group of four people who 8 years ago came to live in Barchel, a small concentration of houses that were in ruins and abandoned. We came here with the idea of carrying out an alternative way of life to the one offered by the capitalist system, fleeing from fierce consumerism, individualism and the depredation of the resources that the planet offers us. In the Barchel collective we try to move towards principles of self-management at all possible levels (food, energy...) of environmental sustainability, horizontality and assemblies through coexistence in community trying to prioritize care, repopulation in the rural environment and recovery of ancient traditional knowledge, strengthening the social fabric of the area. We try to carry out these pillars through daily actions such as maintaining the garden, taking care of the animals, participating in the festivities and activities of the Serranía, meeting to make decisions in consensus.
  
  Somos un grupo de cuatro personas, que hace 8 años nos vinimos a vivir a Barchel, una pequeña concentración de casas que se encontraban en ruinas y abandonadas.
  Vinimos aquí con la idea de llevar a cabo una forma de vida alternativa a la que nos ofrece el sistema capitalista, huyendo del consumismo feroz, el individualísimo y la depredación de los recursos que el planeta nos ofrece.
  En el colectivo de Barchel tratamos de caminar hacia unos principios de autogestión a todos los niveles posibles (alimenticia, energética...) de sostenibilidad medioambiental, de horizontalidad y de asamblearismo a través de una convivencia en comunidad tratando de priorizar los cuidados, la repoblación en el entorno rural y recuperación de saberes tradicionales antiguas, fortaleciendo el tejido social de la zona.
  Tratamos de llevar a cabo estos pilares mediante acciones diarias como es el mantener la huerta, cuidar los animales, participar en los festejos y actividades de la Serranía, reunirnos para tomar decisiones en conceso.

  We need help of all kinds: -Construction -Maintenance -Agriculture/Livestock - In general we need motivated people with desire and energy to help us with tasks. We are very open to learning and teaching all the knowledge we have learned throughout all these years.

  Working a minimum of hours a day about 4h or 5h. There will be rest days so that people can enjoy the culture of the area. An assembly will be held where the volunteers make their proposals of what they expect from this experience and we are very open and flexible for their proposals.

  The place has many hiking trails, it has a swamp about 5km away, nearby there are towns where you can buy in supermarkets. The village is called Barchel and the Pantano de Benagéber.
