    Description

We are looking for Independent volunteer wanted for food gardening, experimental aquaponics, planting, clearing, and general farm support in a very remote off-grid island setting. Includes simple accommodation, tropical fruits during work hours, access to selected water activities and gym space, and the chance to learn practical skills such as solar systems, 3D printing, plumbing, and tropical growing.

🍅 Establishing Food garden — tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, onions, garlic, peppers, kale, cabbage, bok choy, pumpkin, watermelon, and honeydew
    🐟 Experimental aquaponics
🛠️ General hands-on help during the day, including construction, clearing around the farm, planting, and other practical tasks
🌿 This role is ideal for someone who enjoys outdoor work, learning by doing, and living in a remote natural setting.

🍚 We provide basic food supplies free of charge, including: Rice, lentils, pasta, bananas, oranges, and sugar cane. But we dont prep your meals.

🍍 During working hours, you may also enjoy: Fruit shakes, ice creams, and fruit snacks

🌴 You may also be able to harvest fruits yourself, including bananas, pineapples, coconuts, papayas, and sugar cane — creating a real harvest-to-table experience that is one of the main reasons people are drawn to this place.

🎣 On a weekly or biweekly basis, there may also be the opportunity to join big game fishing trips using island-made lures, targeting tuna, mahi-mahi, and marlin. This is part of a special catch-to-table experience that many people find deeply rewarding.

🏄 As part of island life, you may have access to:
-🛶 water sport activities ( kayak, sup )
-🏋️ A gym area for weightlifting and yoga
    -🤸 A trampoline
    -🌿 Jungle hiking trails
    -💦 jungle waterfalls

    🏡 Living conditions :
    - 🛏️ Accommodation in a bungalow with double bunk beds or in a ranchito with an ocean view
    - 🚿 Running water ~ 50 liters per day
    - 🚿 Shower
-💧 Drinking water ( directly, or filer or Bekrey filter )
    -🔥 Gas cooker
-☀️ Solar electricity during the day only, usually around 4–6 hours
-📶 Unlimited Starlink internet, available 24/7
    -🚽 Compost toilet
-🌴 A very remote setting, with no nearby shops, bars, or other residents

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

beach rancho, on futons alike ( down at ground ) matraces, ant mosquito net, no air-condition. And bungalow with two double bunk beds . Electricity & water is accessible but limited and in care of volunteers. Starlink is 24/7

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We generally do not use chemicals such as sunscreen, washing liquids, or similar products.

    Notable mentions:

    🚽 Composting toilet with bidet
🐶 2+ dogs on the property
🍉 We follow a high-fruit diet and do not have fixed breakfast, lunch, or dinner times, so eating happens quite randomly throughout the day
🌿 It is more or less jungle, so encounters with wild animals are possible: iguanas, spiders, cockroaches, scorpions (including bicolored and devil scorpions), snakes, owls, canaries, eagles, pelicans, crabs, river shrimp, ants, and others. A wide grass-cut road is usually maintained to reduce unexpected encounters, but it is still important to be careful and mindful of where you step
    ❄️ No fridge
🏪 No shop on the island
🍽️ No restaurant accessible on the island
    🚿 Limited running water
📵 No cellphone signal, except on the top hill where it is unstable, though with a long-range antenna the network signal is acceptable
    General expectations:

    ✅ Good work ethic
    🤝 Eagerness to help
🔋 Preparation work such as charging batteries, preparing tools, and getting the site ready for the next day will be the volunteer’s responsibility later on. This should be done within working hours and should not take more than 30mins
🥾 Commuting or hiking time of 10–30 minutes from your location to the work site is outside working hours
🪏 work is manual labor, by hands, and is expected 25hours a weeks, 2 days off
    🚫 No drinking
    🚭 No smoking
📱 No phone use during working hours
🌱 No animal-based products on the island, including meat, eggs, milk, or snacks containing animal derivatives. Catching fish occasionally, a few times a week, is OK, but cleaning it must be done outside common areas

⚠️ This is a very remote place, with no nearby shops, bars, or other residents. It is best suited for someone genuinely inspired by off-grid island life, practical help, and the rare mix of catch-to-table and harvest-to-table living.

⚠️ Please note: travel to the mainland is neither simple nor cheap. While we can synchronize together, and you can hop on our scheduled boat, but it is not granted and if deciding to leave other than official agreed date we dont contribute to boat cost unless prior agreement made. Good to know, that same-day round trip costs around $160 due to fuel, boat and engine maintenance, and the time required from both captain and helper. Reaching the island takes around 90–120 minutes by boat, and transport is not available with tourist-style frequency. Because of this, this role is best for someone who truly wants this experience, rather than someone simply looking for a cheap place to stay.
