… read more very clear and over every morning-coffee or lunchbreak we planned out the tasks of that day. And outside of the tasks I felt like there was enough time to do some things for myself. Even though I stayed here for a relatively short amount of time, I will carry it with me for the rest of my life. Thanks a lot! 💫

It's now been 2 months since I came back from my first workaway experience.
Staying with Søssa and Geir was the best that could happen to me! I spend 7 incredible weeks on their farm, which really flew by!

I am really grateful to Søssa for teaching me more about academic groundwork, it was wonderful to learn so much about how to use my energy in training and to get the opportunity to learn from each horse. They are four beautiful and different characters, I really enjoyed spending time with them.
I did the work around the horses with pleasure, and I enjoyed working without any hurry, so it felt rarely like work. Additionally, I did some painting jobs and other seasonal works, like preparing the fields for the summer.
In my spare time I often took walks in the beautiful forest, either in the good company of one of the horses or dogs or alone.
Søssa and Geir are spreading a positive energy and calmness, so I could calm down with the time, as well. They are both very open and trusting and always made me feel very welcome. The animals are treated as part of the family as well as the workawayers.
We went on several little trips (I really got to know the Oslofjord;), and one time we even went to a horseclinic, definitely a highlight for me. Through them I also met so many nice and inspiring people.
I already miss the daily coffe breaks (I really appreciated that they always took time for that even when they were so busy with artprojects), delicious meals, the sunset-beers and good conversations.
I felt honored that they trusted me to look after the animals and the farm by my own for some days, several times during my stay.
I enjoyed every day of my stay so much and it was hard to say goodbye. So, I can't wait staying again with Søssa and Geir and their amazing animals and I am really curious how the two youngsters of the horses has developed until then!

They introduced me to many of their brilliant artist and non-artist friends as well as part of their family who were all equally amazing and inspiring humans. I also had the honor of spending my last week in Bergen with them, which was definitely a highlight of mine! My stay was filled with good music, amazing food, deep chats, great beer and wine. I can truly not thank them enough for the amazing stay and already miss the Friday beer and incredible food! I can’t wait to hopefully stay with them again sometime. Thanks for all the opportunities, for letting me take part in your lives, and for trusting me with your animals. I appreciate you and miss you already!

So many beautiful experiences! Travelling, partying, taking care of their horses, traditional haying.

… read more the highways even in Oslo! We stopped in Valdres to stay there the night after we brought one of the horses away for a while for breeding. Who knows maybe she will get a foal next year, something for other workawayers to look forward to for next year. The cabin in Valdres is really special, it feels like time goes slower there.
On their farm my daily activities were mostly to help take care of the horses or other work in or around the house.
In one of the last weeks I also helped a lot with haying. That was a good experience! It were long days but I felt tired in a good way after. Haha I also fixed their sink on my own, something I hadn't done alone before.
I also really like how the horses, cats and dogs are treated here.
For example after doing something with the horses, I was asked to thank the horse with my heart.
That is so beautiful, I'm already really into working with the spiritual energy of horses and will defenitely incorporate thanking the horse with my heart after doing something with them.
I had good conversations with Søssa and Geir, they are really welcoming and open minded people.
I was even trusted to take care of the farm a few days myself and I think it is so couragous to trust a person with that while you don't know them for so long! It gave me so much confidence and I stepped more into my own leadership.
I also met their family and we had an awesome party for their anniversary! All such lovely people and such a fun experience, made some new friends, haha I loved the karaoke!

I really enjoyed the company the animals gave me and the peace of nature. You don't have to go to the fjords to see that Norway is a beautiful country; it has many great landscapes and pretty corners =). I also enjoyed my various encounters with our neighbors, the moose family :D

Also the contemplating work of chopping wood or haying in the sun/rain and the selfmade beer afterwards, as well as the extraordinary delicious food made this a unique experience.
