    Description

Welcome to our small farm in Norway – countryside life with sled dogs

    Hi there!

We are a small family living on a cozy countryside property about one hour from Oslo, surrounded by nature but still close to a small town and train station. This makes it easy to explore the area while enjoying peaceful rural life.

A big part of our life here are our 28 sled dogs, who live on the property. They are our passion and hobby and part of the daily routines. Dog lovers are definitely welcome – the dogs always enjoy attention and cuddles 🐾

    Payment

We offer hourly payment in line with Norwegian standards (approximately 180–200 NOK per hour).

    Free accommodation is provided.

Working hours are usually around 4–5 hours per day, depending on the project and weather. All details about tasks, hours and payment will always be agreed beforehand.

    Accommodation

Helpers stay in our separate guest house on the property.

    The guest house includes:
    • private bathroom
    • fully equipped kitchen
    • sleeping space for one person, couples, or even a small family

This gives you your own space and privacy while still being part of daily life on the farm.

Couples or small families are welcome.

    Help needed

There are always small projects around our property. Current projects include:
    • helping build a wooden terrace
    • small renovation tasks such as light plastering or tiling (if you have experience)
    • helping with garden work and outdoor maintenance
    • general tasks around the property

If you are interested in dogs, you may also sometimes help with simple routines around the sled dogs.

    Who we are looking for

We are looking for friendly and motivated people who enjoy practical work and being outdoors.

Experience with tools, construction, gardening or similar work is a big plus, but a good attitude and willingness to help are most important.

    What you can experience here

Living here means experiencing Norwegian countryside life, lots of nature, and daily life with sled dogs. In your free time you can explore the surrounding forests, lakes and small towns nearby.

We enjoy meeting people from different cultures and sharing our lifestyle here.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are a German family living in Norway, and we speak English fluently. Our home is a mix of cultures, and we enjoy connecting with people from all over the world. We’re open-minded, social, and always happy to share stories, experiences, and perspectives. You’ll get a glimpse into both Norwegian and German ways of life, as well as the chance to practice different languages and enjoy meaningful conversations in a relaxed, welcoming environment
