    Description

We are a community of the nationality Sekoya siekopaai, we are located in the northeastern Ecuadorian, in the province of Sucumbios, Canton Shushufindi, San Roque parish. We are 15 families in which we dedicate ourselves to the conservation of our customs, traditions and our environment ... and in a constant struggle to preserve our identity.
We live in the middle of a forest of 20,000 hectares and on the banks of the Aguarico river.
We are an autonomous community: we have solar panels that give us clean electric power and Internet, rainwater collection and purification based on natural filters, we have a bilingual school of Spanish and Siekopaai (mother tongue), we have our medicinal gardens for our medicine ancestral, our crafts, our ceramics, our own gastronomy based on our own crops (yucca, banana, cane, u`kwisi, fruit trees, maïs, cacao, wild grape, guabas, bush meat, chickens, ...)
Our vision is to create a sustainable aid project for our families to be able to produce and conserve our native species that are currently in constant danger of extinction. We want to create fish hatcheries in their natural state forming small lagoons in our forest.
