    Description

Welcome to our Dance & Yoga Studio in Suurbraak, Western Cape, South Africa. A tiny gem nestled between the Langeberg Mountain Range and the Buffeljags River on your doorstep! We have a sprung-wooden floor dance studio completely Off-the-Grid and want to build more structures and expand the food and medicine gardens. We have a beautiful hexagon greenhouse with incredible soil structure and the food flourishes there. This is a beautiful canvas still in creation, growth and expansion! We would love your help to make our visions manifest into physical reality.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Travelers can deepen their embodiment of dance and yoga. You can deepen your practice of Permaculture, food, fruit and medicine gardening. You can hike in the mountains with many majestic waterfalls. Experience a real life magical place. We are also close to the village of Suurbraak which was a Coloured homeland. It has a bygone era charm, where people still plouw the land with horse drawn carts and ride on horseback. Cattle and animals still free roaming in the main road. It's a place relatively undiscovered by the outside world. Come and experience it for yourself.

  • Help

    Help

We are looking for someone to help us with Permaculture in Paradise. We want to move the frame of the other greenhouse and set it up. We want to create a labyrinth. Lots of big projects to build campsite.
Daily chores would include cooking dinners, including for the taste of a five and a half year old! Switching on the sprinklers to water the greenhouse and fruit trees. House sitting when we are away would include feeding our cat. Living Off-the-Grid is hard physical work so you will need to be quite physically fit and strong.
I am also looking for some help with cleaning and sweeping the studio before a yoga or dance class.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You will be staying in a Caravan in its own plot right on the river bank with an epic view. It has a comfy double bed, little lounge and kitchen area. If you cook the dinners then most of the food will be supplied by us at the main homestead by the yoga and dance studio. You will be responsible for your own breakfasts, lunches, snacks and luxuries. The ideal workawayer would have an online job and source of income for what they will need. We do have small amounts cleaning and gardening paid work available. But we do not have the means so support someone in its entirety unless it is for a fair exchange.

Food we base it on Workaway Guidelines that an exchange on Workaway should involve volunteers receiving 3 meals/ingredients and accommodation. We consider it to be a fair exchange when hosts offer both food/meals/ingredients and accommodation for up to 25 hours help a week (4-5 hours, 5 days a week).

However, this will depend on of the Workawayer can help us cook meals.

Many people have different dietary requirements. We can afford to supply some food but not food in its entirety.

If you are not cooking with us and don't request food/ingredients/3 meals, then we wouldn't request more than 15 hours/week.

We prefer the 2nd option. 3hrs per day, 15hours per week. Ideally the Workawayer should have online work to be able to pay for toiletries and additional food requirements.

Workaways can prepare meals and enjoy with us as part of the family.

So there is the option sorting your own self out for food. Or cooking and eating with us. We want to allow for two different options depending on the Workawayers requirements.
