    Description

This is an NGO helping animals in Bali. We have a shelter for our current animals (we are at more than full capacity) and we do regular sterlisation and vaccination days of street animals. Where we can we also provide de-worming and other preventative care for street animals.

It started with me, working with some other charities, offering my home as a place to do sterlisations and vaccinations for people's animals in the local area, but in a crazy twist of events, I ended up being dumped with so,so many dogs and cats in a very short period of time! Word must have spread incorrectly that I was a charity and instead of dumping the animals elsewhere, my house became the place to do it!
I had to move several times to stop this from happening and still have to turn people away who try to dump more.

Last year, I decided to open an official NGO in order to get help and support in caring for these animals. Living, working with and caring for all these animals by myself is a lot, it is rewarding, but I needed help.

I now have a small but dedicated team and we would love/need some extra help!

Currently, we are looking after 30 dogs and 17 cats at the shelter, we also feed many street animals in the surrounding area. The mission is to do our bit in helping to reduce suffering of the hundreds of thousands of street dogs and cats in Bali, by providing some medical care, vaccinations, deworming and sterilization.

My home / the shelter are located in Tabanan, half way up Batu Karu mountain, neat to the Jatih Luwih rice field terrances. We are surrounded by rice fields, nature and mountain views. We are in a rural village, near to hot springs, waterfalls, eco-farms, chocolate factories and a butterfly park but only 10 minutes drive from Tabanan city centre and 25 mins drive from Kedunggu beach.

If you are passionate about animals and want to be part of something meaningful while staying in a peaceful, authentic part of Bali and share some fun and love with the animals, we would love to hear from you!

🏡 House Rules & Living Style
We live a peaceful and animal-centered lifestyle here and we ask that anyone who stays with us, help us keep the environment safe, respectful, and calm, especially for the animals in our care.

    House rules:

Quiet time after 10pm – The animals need a calm environment to settle at night, so we ask for quiet from 10pm onwards. Generally the dogs want to sleep as soon as it gets dark, so are usually ready for bed around 8pm!

No parties or outside guests – This is a private home and animal shelter. Please don’t invite anyone over without permission. We also do not want to expose the location to more potential dumping of animals, so try to keep it very private.

No videos or social media content without permission – You're welcome to take photos, but please ask before posting anything online or filming inside the home or with the animals.

Keep shared spaces clean and tidy.

No drugs or heavy alcohol use – Light social drinking is okay, but this is not a party place.

Respect the animals – Please be gentle, patient, and calm around them at all times. Many have been rescued from trauma and need consistency and care.

Be mindful of food storage – We live in nature, so keeping food properly stored is essential to avoid attracting ants or other visitors!

💻 For Digital Nomads & Remote Workers We understand that some volunteers may be working online while staying with us — and we’re happy to support that, as long as it fits around the animals’ care. Here’s what you need to know: Wi-Fi is available and stable enough for email, calls, and light work (we’re in a Bali, so the signal strength can fluctuate, but it is good enough for remote work) You’ll have your own private room for quiet work time and calls. We’re happy to organize a flexible schedule so you can fit in remote work alongside your volunteer tasks — usually a few hours of help in the morning and again in the late afternoon works well. This is a tranquil, natural setting, ideal for focus, creativity, and balance. That said, the animals do need consistent care and presence, so we’re looking for people who are committed to both helping and being present, even if working online part-time.
