Description
Hello dear Workawayer. My name is Kristina, and I live and work in a natural heritage site in the northeastern part of Germany. This area is renowned for its beech forests, which were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List due to their unspoiled and special nature. Notable animals in the park include the red deer, the crane, the white-tailed eagle, and the osprey. In the spring , biking routes and its many lakes.
The next biggest town, Neustrelitz, is located approximately 15 km away. Berlin is about a one-hour train ride south. People interested living and working here with us should be open and happy to live in a quite remote but lush area.
In the heart of this pristine landscape, I have been living with my three children (aged 12, 15, and 17) for many years. Besides calling this my home, I manage a café during the summertime (from April to October) and simultaneously maintain a garden that provides food for my family and my business.
For this period of the year, I am seeking a person who can assist me in the garden and occasionally with household tasks.Types of help and learning opportunities
Language practice
Gardening
Creating/ Cooking family meals
Help around the house
Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Me and my children are well traveled and also our home is open to many visitors and friends throughout the year. Especially with the garden Café open in spring and summer there will be many guests from all over Germany and even abroad. You will never feel alone - if you don't want to. We would love to learn your language and we are happy to teach you some German. My boys play different musical instruments (piano, cello) and play chess. So if you happen to be musical as well, you will have a great time with us and even enjoy some private lessons with them.

Help
The person who is willing to help and live here should love the outdoors and be willing to get their hands dirty, as there will be quite some work to do in the spring and summertime.
Tasks will include, for example, sowing seeds of different kinds of vegetables, preparing the soil for planting, digging up earth, watering plants, and taking care of the small greenhouse. I am happy to teach all the garden-related tasks, so there is no need for any special skills. As the house is primarily heated by firewood, there is always the need to chop wood. Besides being a helpful hand in the garden, it is important that you are willing to become part of the family and love to be social with us and enjoy being around (older) children, as my boys love to interact with people and, of course, exchange language skills. Ideally you would also like to cook for and with us occasionally. But of course there is always space to have privacy as you will have a room of your own. The workawayer won't be asked to do any activities related to my cafe business.Languages
