  • Description

HI, My name is Jason and my wife and I run a beautiful farm right in the South of Spain. We rent out rooms and hold events such as weddings and family parties for people who enjoy the animals and the great out doors. We are close to towns but far enough away to enjoy the countryside. However you must be able to speak good Spanish as there is little English spoken in this area and our staff are almost all only Spanish speakers.

We are looking for a fairly experienced horse rider/instructor/all-rounder who is looking for a new and exciting challenge in the South of Spain. In exchange of work we can offer private onsite accommodation, a basic contract and wage that can be 6 months or for the full year for the right person.

Although the anchor role will be support for our manager we need the person to be double skilled for this to be a more engaged opportunity. In fact we are open to a range of people who have different skill sets but would still be happy to support our manager, this may be a yoga instructor, or indeed a cook, someone who is happy to take charge of the kitchen providing breakfasts and some dinners.

We have a modest (farm) with 28 stables, 18 paddocks, a walker, two arena’s which are set in beautiful countryside only a few miles from amazing beaches, great surfing and the beautiful Hill-Top town of Vejer de la Frontera in the far South of Spain.

This is and a fantastic opportunity to work alongside some good people who are working as a fantastic team and learn about the wonderful PRE breed of horses and different ways of instruction. We have a range of horses at different stages and some livery for clients

You would become part of a great team that run the whole place including the hotel and for a couple of days a week you would provide support for our manager. It is important that you can work well as a team member and that you are dedicated in doing all aspects of the job.

You must be able to speak good Spanish and English, be able to work on your own and within a team. You will be asked to look after and train our horses, give basic lessons, look after all horse welfare, farrier visits, vets and training paperwork, tack rooms feed/bedding but you will have the support of two other workers for the manual work.

At present we have 10 horses, 4 ponies and 6 donkeys, plus a whole range of other animals that make the place a pleasure to be a part of.

This is a great opportunity for the right person to have a truly unforgettable experience with hard work. What we don’t want is “yard wars” or someone is more focused on having a “fun-time in the Sun”. We are looking for a start date in June with a +/- 6 months agreement and only serious enquires please

Travellers will get to work with our small team who are really great people. The area is full of history and beautiful landscapes not to mention the amazing horses that come from this area the PRE's. There is much to learn in this area, cooking, horse riding, history, plants and we are on the main bird migration route from Africa to Europe, there is a lot.
