    Description

Hi, I’m Tanusha—a traveler, an avid reader, an explorer. What I explore depends on where I am and what my current obsession is, but when travelling my interests generally include history, culture, galleries, and libraries. When I’m not travelling, I’m usually busy with academia.

At home, we are a family of three—my mum, my sister, and myself—and recently we’ve had a new addition to the family: our little Shih Tzu puppy. It is mainly this new arrival that we need help with. His name is Aarya, and he’s quite curious, playful, and active—perhaps a bit too active late at night (or very early in the morning, depending on your sleep clock!).

We live in Chandigarh—about four hours both from the hills of Shimla and from the capital city, New Delhi. Chandigarh is not particularly touristy, but there are still things you could enjoy in the city: a walk along the long bank of Sukhna Lake in the evening, exploring the inspired Rock Garden, enjoying the blossoms in the expansive Zakir Hussain Rose Garden, not to mention the variety of birds at Chandigarh Bird Park. These are all lovely outdoor spots for those who seek a bit of nature and open skies.

We love to talk and share stories, so your anecdotes and experiences are very welcome. :)
We have a small collection of books that you can engage with during your stay with us.

I’ve been around India, so I’m sure I can be of help in making some sense of the many cultures and languages that make up this land. I can also assist you with your itinerary around the country.

Besides, we live in a predominantly Punjabi community, so, you can partake in the local customs of the festivals of Gurupurab and Baisakhi.

We are looking for someone who can help us train and petsit Aarya for some time during the day, and also during the half hour when he is oddly active around 3–4 o’clock in the night. All three of us have things to attend to during the day, so we cannot really afford a disturbed night’s sleep. For that reason, we would ask that Aarya stay in your room with you at night.

One more thing: our household is a ‘Quiet Zone’ until 9 am, and we hope you’ll be mindful of that during your stay with us.

We would also love it if you could teach us one of these languages—French, German, or Spanish. This is simply a welcome bonus, not an absolute requirement.

Please be mindful, we are vegetarians, and don’t let fish and meat at our place. Eggs are fine though.

We also have a temple in our home, so we hope you’ll appreciate liquor and smoking are not okay.

Chandigarh is a shared capital of two states, so we are well connected via rail, road and air. Both Chandigarh railway station and Chandigarh International Airport are 30 minutes from our place. Connectivity by road includes local buses, auto rickshaws, and Uber.

There are many travel destinations you can explore during your days off. Shimla is 4 hours, Manali about 5 by road. Jaipur is 1.5 hours while Delhi is 45 minutes by flight.
