We've started to set up a learning centre near Chiang Rai to promote natural building techniques mainly utilizing earth, straw, timber and bamboo. We also want to become a place where local people and foreigners can discover and learn about eco friendly, economical and easily replicable ideas, systems and techniques (solar panels, wind turbines, earth ovens, rocket-stoves, solar heaters etc. We are only a couple (French, Thai) and really need some help from motivated volunteers to help us to move forward faster and make our (ambitious) project come true as soon as possible :)

Volunteers will learn natural building skills suitable in various climates and part of the world, as well as organic gardening skills. We usually spend with volunteers hours of discussion about some local/global issues, Thai culture, ways people can become more self-sufficient and self-reliant.
We need help from September 2019 to build several earth buildings on our new land and also to start to growing organic veggies, plants and fruit trees. The new land is only 50 meters from our current place, so we will be able to work by using the existing facilities (dormitory, relaxing area, kitchen, bathroom, tools shed). The work proposed to volunteers will be mostly gardening and finishing the new buildings (mostly to make the walls and/or the roof).
We accept volunteers for at least 10 working days.
We are about 30 minutes from Chiang Rai. You can get there by taxi (about 600 baht, 20 USD). Otherwise – if we are available – we can pick up volunteers at Chiang Rai for a fee (300 bahts, 10 USD).

Simple but comfortable accommodation in a dormitory or - if you prefer - a private tent (one or two person).
We sometimes go to visit the surroundings during days off (meditation center, organic farm, local market, temples etc). Otherwise, after work, they can walk around the place and see lovely rice paddy fields and fruit trees plantations.
Meals will be mostly with meat or fish for lunch as we order food from local restaurants which has limited vegetarian dishes options. We usually cook ourselves vegetarian food for diner. We can't provide vegan food as it is not possible to accommodate every one, so we are asking vegan people to be quite flexible ...
Wifi and electricity (220 V) are available.
We ask all volunteers to have their own health insurance, and be sure they are physically fit for such work.
We ask all volunteers to refrain from any illegal drug use or excessive drinking in our centre.
Limited internet access
We have pets
We are smokers
