    Description

Hi, we have finished our project in Puerto Viejo and have moved inland a few kilometers from Bribri, the last town before the indigenous Territories.

Bribri is a 20 min taxi or bus ride away from Puerto Viejo. We are in the jungle living off grid (no electricity, running water and spotty internet). We use a solar charger to charge our phones, drink from the waterfalls, bathe in the river and wash with rainwater from our newly installed water tank. We currently sleep on beds with mosquito nets with no solid structure until we can build treehouses and an indigenous community house, so it's a pretty intimate and cozy setting. We have just been here since the beginning of Aug 2021 and have already accomplished a lot.

We are a 30 min walk to Bribri and 5 mins to the local corner store so pretty remote. This project which is on 5 hectares is a new development and we are in the early stages of developing it. We could use volunteers with building and farming skills and are asking for a minimum one month commitment. Also, the space is already dedicated to Sacred Plant Medicine and our goal for now is to develop this into a healing center with the already existing Permacultural gardens. We are growing our own organic vegetables; corn, squash, beans, carrots and edible flowers.

We are in constant evolution and development on a personal, energetic and practical level. With a local and community vision Beta-Life Eco-Project was created in 2016 under the principles of sustainable development, cultural exchange and recovery of native knowledge

We are looking for travellers interested in taking responsibility in the development of this new project more focused on Ancestral Medicine and permacultural living.

We offer Workawayers an exchange of a 4 to 5hr workday with 1 day off/week. If you come to learn you can do more hours.
Volunteers all chip in for food (until we can harvest organic veggies from our garden) and we cook communally. We currently have coconuts, bananas and yucca readily available).

Thanks for your interest in our project. We welcome you to get in contact with us if you feel ready for this new adventure!
