Hey! We're Jop and Emma, a freelance data guy and a PhD researcher based in Hedel, a quiet village just outside Den Bosch in the Netherlands. We're looking for a couple to house-sit while we're away, the main job is taking care of our animals, and in return you get a lovely place to stay and work from. We don't have any trips planned yet, it'll depend on you guys :).

Our two cats are blind and absolutely wonderful. Boem (5) is the mellow one: she mostly naps, loves cuddles, will give you endless headbutts. Bam (2) is the adventurer, she roams the whole house and garden despite not being able to see a thing, and will absolutely climb onto your lap the second you sit down at a desk. They need feeding, some playtime, and just general love and attention. They're easy, but they do need people who actually like cats.

Hedel is a small, peaceful village with three grocery stores within walking distance. Den Bosch (a beautiful city, highly recommend exploring it) is a 10-minute drive or a short bus ride away. Utrecht is about 30 minutes, Amsterdam around an hour. Good transport links if you want to explore the Netherlands on weekends.

We're also getting chickens soon, so depending on timing you might be looking after those too so feeding and collecting eggs, nothing complicated.

It's a fully renovated 1890s home with loads of character — heated floors, original details, wood-burning stove, and a sunny garden with a vegetable patch. The kitchen is well-equipped (dishwasher included), and there's a covered outdoor area that's great for hanging out whatever the weather.

Upstairs: king-size bedroom, second bedroom with a queen bed, and a bathroom with both shower and bathtub.

There's also a separate office space with two desks, monitors, private toilet and shower — perfect if you're working remotely. Fast wifi throughout.
