    Description

Hi, I’m Tobias. I have a small garden house on a quiet allotment, surrounded by green but still close to the city.

This year I’m redoing the garden, inspired by Piet Oudolf. Grasses, wildflowers, perennials, that kind of thing. The idea is to make it feel natural and a bit wild, not too perfect.

You’ll stay in the garden house. It works for one person or like two friends / a couple traveling together. I won’t be sleeping there myself. I’ll be around during your stay, moving between the garden and my own house. It’s a shared place in a relaxed way, with space for your own rhythm as well.

You’ll experience life in Amsterdam while staying in a quiet green allotment park, surrounded by nature. It’s a nice contrast: peaceful garden life, yet close to one of the most vibrant cities in Europe.

You can use both of my bikes for free, one with a crossbar and one without. It’s a beautiful ride through the park and in about 20 minutes you’re in the city. There’s also an easy tram connection to the center.

I’m happy to take you along to some of my favorite places in the city, from museums and markets to parks and more alternative spots. I’m into things like ecstatic dance and yoga, and know some great bars, cultural venues and interesting architecture around Amsterdam. Always nice to explore a bit together and I can show you around.

    Help

I’m looking for people who enjoy gardening and helping outdoors.

The help mainly involves preparing garden beds, planting perennials and grasses, light landscaping and general gardening. We will also lay weed control fabric under the terrace to prevent weeds from growing through, and create a natural hedge along the path to give the garden more privacy.

There might also be some small building or creative garden projects.

Experience with gardening is welcome, but enthusiasm and a positive attitude are most important.

You’ll stay in a small garden house on a quiet allotment in Amsterdam, surrounded by green. The house has a small kitchen, and the bathroom is outside. Pretty simple but also kinda fun. Good news: the water is hot :)

There are a few sleeping options: a double high sleeper bed, a bunk bed and a sleeping sofa. So it works for one person, or two people travelling together (friends or couple), even small family could fit.

I won’t be staying overnight, but I’ll be around regularly.
