    Description

    Hello workawayers!

This is a unique hotel nestled at the edge of the jungle between the cities of Quepos and Manuel Antonio. Visiting the hotel is a wonderful opportunity, especially for those who want to see a little piece of everything Costa Rica offers. Volunteers are guaranteed to see monkeys, enjoy stunning hikes to secluded beaches, and can enjoy all that this unique part of the world has to offer!

We are a popular hotel and take pride in the service that we provide to guests from all around the world. During the high season especially, we often find ourselves fully booked. There is no shortage of tasks! That being said, there is always time for fun and we encourage volunteers to share their talents and ideas with us. If you’re interested in doing something special, we want to hear about it! Typical volunteer tasks include housekeeping, reception, laundry, painting, and gardening.

Volunteers are asked to work 5 days a week. Each shift is 5 hours a day or 6 hours a day with a 1-hour break (5 hours actively working). You will have 2 days off a week in a row. Days off generally stay the same week to week. We ask for a minimum stay of 4 weeks. Volunteer priority is given to those who can commit for longer periods of time.

Your perks as a volunteer include vegetarian food, dorm-style accommodation with comfy mattresses and linens (private rooms available for couples), access to the pool (open 24/7), on-site laundry, discounts on tours when possible and the beauty of the Costa Rican jungle! You will have more than enough food for 3 meals a day, however, if you would like something special like cheese or meat, you will need to purchase this yourself.

Please note that we have both reception shifts and housekeeping shifts. Due to the clients that we work with, it is required that you have a proficient level of English to work in the reception. If you speak additional languages such as German or French, this is also beneficial. We will still consider your application if you are learning English and offer you an environment to develop your language skills, however, your shifts may be limited to housekeeping and general maintenance tasks.

The property is non-smoking and non-vaping.

If this sounds like a good fit, please tell us a bit about yourself and your skills. We look forward to hearing from you!

    Pura Vida!

Volunteers share their workplace and the community with local Tico people. We have a team of 5 to 10 local staff, depends on the season, from maintenance, gardening, laundry, housekeepers, cook and waiter, you will have the chance to interact with them, learn Spanish with them and maybe teach them a bit of your own language. You can learn/practice your Spanish and seek to understand more about local ways of living. We hope volunteers can create a warm and welcoming space for all.

    What else ...

In your free time, there are tons of things to do and see! The bus to Manuel Antonio is only 10 minutes and there you’ll find popular beaches, restaurants, and the famous Manuel Antonio National Park. Right outside our property are networks of hiking trails to Playa Matcha and other destinations. Quepos is also a short bus or walk to get any additional groceries/goodies you may want. The bus costs 385 CRC and takes you there in 5/10 minutes. The nearest beach is around 30 minutes hike from here. If you like to hike we recommend you to explore it!

We expect volunteers to dress appropriately during helping shifts, and to keep the shared kitchen and rooms clean. This is a place where our guests come to relax, unwind and connect with nature, it is not a party venue.
This is a non-smoking place, if you smoke, you need to go outside the premises! Make sure you throw away your cigarettes properly in a trashcan.
