  Description

  I am a single mom with an 11 year old son living and playing in the beautiful Sea to Sky. We live on a cul de sac with tight knit relationships with our wonderful neighbours. Some of the activities we enjoy are mountain biking and skiing. As a former exchange student in France, who has lifelong memories of my time there, I am looking forward to hosting and sharing experiences with the right workawayer and providing wonderful memories as well! Squamish is perfect for people who love the outdoors, with access to biking, hiking, kiting, paddling,mountains, ocean and rivers. My son likes biking, playing with his friends, playing outside, dungeons and dragons and video games. I am currently looking for someone. We are looking forward to sharing the beautiful place we live with you!

  Some of the activities we like to do are visit the Britannia Mine Museum, swimming at the lakes, camping, fires with neighbours in the back yard, going to the pool or ice-skating, mountain biking and hiking. My son has also taken up curling, and I'd like to start cross-country skiing more. Squamish has a lot of good quality events, such as small venue music, trivia nights, comedy nights, adventure movies etc. As a former exchange student, I hope to share language experiences and all that Squamish has to offer. We also have a cabin in the mountains of the Okanagan that we visit when we can!

  Help

  I would appreciate help with day to day activities, such as cooking and cleaning and hanging out with my son on the occasional night out. We will be away for a month and would be looking for someone to house sit and take care of our cat. I would also be looking for someone to look after my son for when I travel a few day for work,occasionally, and if there is good rapport with my son. If the hosting experience extends to the summer, I may travel for work for longer periods.

  My French is intermediate/fluent and interested in practicing! My son speaks some French from having attended French school I can carry on a conversation in Spanish from having lived in Mexico, and I am interested in furthering my Spanish!

  Accommodation

  You will be staying in our half-duplex in the master bedroom that adjoins the full bathroom that is shared by all. I envision us sharing meals when our evening schedule allows and participating in activities with us, if you like!

  What else ...

  We live close to the bus stop and walking distance to trails, the river, cafes, restaurants, sports facilities (such as climbing gym). Biking to many different amenities, such as groceries, the recreation center and pool, are possible from our location as we are very centrally located. I am a geologist who works from my home office most days of the week, with minimum one day travel to Vancouver per week for work. We would ask that you not have guest over while home alone with my son.
