    Description

Hello there, my name is Lukas.
I am originally from Germany but have lived in Italy on and off for the past 40 years. I am an architect by trade but also a sailor. I have build and restored several wooden boats in the past and basically everything at our family estate at Lake Maggiore in Italy. I'm a decent carpenter and woodworker but also a good at bricklaying, not so good at welding and electrical things, but perform more or less all jobs that need to be done around a house.
I'm fluent in German, Italian and English and do know some rusty French.

I define myself as an architect and a sailor. I have built a few houses in the area and have 700+ antique books on yachting in the house.
The area where we are is close to Milan, Varese and Turin with all their museums and we are close to Switzerland and afterall also to France.

    Help

We have a very nice and sunny place with wonderful views over Lago Maggiore. Right now I'm in the process to give it another push in and around the house and could need some help. It would be lovely to have one or two handy people around to help for a couple of months prior to easter, so maybe february and march.

We have 4 thousand square meters of terrain and I have to cut several trees, make wood for the fireplaces, maybe restore a few stonewalls or at one stage hopefully build a larger carport, a swimming pool and a sauna. Also inside the house I have to paint here and there and repair and improve things. We have a little shed which could need some TLC. Then I have a Land Rover and several trailers and boats which need sorting etc. etc.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Part of the house is a lovely apartment with terrace and stunning views we rent out during the summers. This would be the accommodation. The place has a kitchen and you should provide for your own meals. Maybe sometimes we can cook or eat together. Alternatively we go shopping together or we agree on a daily financial allowance!

  • What else ...

    What else ...

The area, apart from the lake has a lot to offer in terms of nature, most prominently the Val Grande national park, often described as "the largest wilderness in the Alps" and offers endless quality hiking possibilities. It is also possible to ski in the area but a car is needed. Apart from that, one is quickly in Milan, Varese or Turin.
