    Description

    Hi, I’m Petra :)
I live in a lovely house in Schönwalde, right on the outskirts of Berlin. Here you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the suburbs and still be in the city in no time!

As it’s quite peaceful here, this accommodation is often best suited to couples or friends travelling together. Of course, solo travellers who’d like to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere are also very welcome. I also rent out the lower part of the house, which is why I regularly have international guests staying with me.

    About me:
I work in the field of disabled care in Berlin-Spandau and have two grown-up children who come to visit me from time to time. I enjoy spending time with other people, but I also appreciate quiet moments to myself. I used to travel a lot myself and have always loved getting to know new people and cultures. That’s why I’m looking forward to welcoming travellers from all over the world🌍
It’s important to me that we get on well and treat each other with respect. If we communicate openly with one another, we’ll find a good solution to everything!🥰

    Location & Surroundings:
I live in a residential area surrounded by forests and fields, and you can go for a run or a bike ride straight from the back gate. The nearest bus stop is just a 2-minute walk away. From there, you can reach Berlin in about 30–40 minutes by public transport. Depending on where you want to go, it might take a little longer or a little less time. Berlin is a big city😅 There are also two bikes available for you to use. A small lake is about a 15-minute walk away. The nearest supermarket is about a 5–10-minute bike ride away. The nearest train station is in Falkensee, the nearest small town. It takes about 10 minutes to get there by bus. As well as small shops, Falkensee also has a cinema, swimming pools, lakes and cafés.

I’d be happy to show you round the local area and take you along to events or on trips if you want to. As well as native German speakers, we also have some who are native Spanish speakers.
In my work, I support people with disabilities, and I can show you what inclusion is like in Germany. I include these people in my life, and we also spend time together at my house.
We cook, play, and enjoy nature. You’re welcome to join us.

    What help I’m looking for:
The tasks are varied and will depend on your skills and interests. They include:
    - Gardening
    - General household support
    - Minor DIY tasks

    Working hours & meals:
As I am working myself and have other things to do alongside my job, I’m afraid I can’t cook for everyone every day. I simply don’t have the time or capacity for that in my day-to-day life. However, I really enjoy cooking, and when I do cook, I’m happy to share it with you. And if you enjoy cooking, perhaps we could arrange it so that you could cook sometimes☺️ I am more than happy to discuss exactly how things will work when you come. However, you’ll definitely be working a maximum of 5 hours a day, 5 days a week and you’ll have two days off each week.

    Accommodation

I have two spare rooms in the upper part of the house. One is large and is ideal for couples or friends travelling together. The other is smaller. Depending on whether you’re coming on your own or with a partner, and how many workawayers are staying, you’ll be accommodated in one of these rooms. And we share the kitchen and bathrooms.
