    Description

This place is a a rural coliving hub in the foothills of the Pyrenees, created by 2 french sisters & their partners as a place where people from across the world can come together to harbour community, respect the environment and promote individual growth.

No two days at this place are ever the same—we co-create this space with everyone who stays here. It’s a home.
We have a garden to care for, a BIG house we’re slowly renovating, and a community that thrives on shared moments. Our days are a mix of deep work, spontaneous conversations, and communal rituals that help us stay connected.
‍None of it is mandatory, just natural rhythms—morning check-ins, long dinners, and little moments of togetherness.

Most people here work, not necessarily on a 9-to-5 schedule, but for a good part of the day. Outside, there’s plenty of nature to explore, and on weekends, someone always sparks an adventure—whether it’s a hike, a trip to Spain, a market visit, or more extreme sports.

This place is an organised chaos, evolving, and deeply intentional about community. It’s a space where you’ll build friendships, find focus, and reconnect with what really matters.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

A founding principle of this project is that we aim to engage local community with international guests. We live in a small town of around 200 people, we have good relationships with neighbours and are always actively exploring ideas concerning how we can return our building to its status as a hub for the community and as an interface between local and global.

We believe in the Open Source philosophy of "building in the open". We aim to make a catalogue of experiences that others can learn from and use to create their own worlds and experiences.

We hope to give Traveller an opportunity to break out of the backpacking bubble and interact daily with friends and neighbours whilst learning new skills.

Life at this place offers lots of opportunity to roll up our sleeves and get involved! Our house is a co-creation of the core team, our residents and the local community through the association that we have built to re-open our spaces as a third place. This takes shape through our community café each Thursday, our newly completed event space and multiple other events, workshops & activities which are provided in our spaces by and for our local and international community.

The volunteering positions we offer helps us to support our association and the regeneration of our building as the heart of the community. Volunteering activities generally involve participating in the care of our no-dig kitchen garden, growing food for residents and neighbours, helping with improvements to the shared community spaces, sharing skills and learning new skills related to construction and eco-construction and finally contributing to the smooth running of our community by helping with the organisation and preparation of community meals.

We will also accept special projects on a case by case basis, so if there is a particular project which you would like to realise or you have a particular skill set which you think we will find useful within our community please get in touch and we can have a discussion about how we can make it work!

To make sure the relationship is a good fit, we will ask you fill out a short questionnaire and have a quick video chat with us before we consider accepting your application. This is to avoid any mismatching and to make sure we form a relationship which works for both of us.

The local area is a playground for those with creative minds and a taste for exploration. 5 minutes walk from the house you can bathe in clear mountain water...and if you are brave enough, dive from the local bridge! Beyond that, the Pyrenees mountains offers you opportunity for all the things you would associate with the mountains, including mountain biking, paragliding, skiing, hiking, wild swimming & foraging.

The local town of Oloron Saint marie, accessed by a 10 minute train ride, has everything you will need in terms of French culture, including quaint bars, small shops & bakeries, music and even the legendary Lindt Chocolate factory which occasionally leaves the small town smelling like Chocolate!

Please be aware that we in a rural town! We have a train connection with 3 trains per day that is walkable from the house. There is a local butchers shop where you can buy simple things such as eggs, bread and meat and we provide bikes for residents to cycle to Oloron.
