We are a remote, off-grid eco-lodge nestled in a protected bay on an otherwise uninhabited island. Depending on the season and the guest, we offer cold water scuba diving (some of the best cold water diving in the world!), hiking, kayaking, yoga, and rewilding, among other nature-based and mindful activities.
We want to share access to the amazing, rugged natural surroundings, and strive to lower our ecological footprint, and be as self-sustainable as possible. Extra supplies that we do need we gather from Port Hardy, small northern Vancouver Island town, 30 mins from Hurst Island.
We have a full equipped kitchen, and each of our rooms have an en-suite shower and toilet. Our rooms are heated, and we are able to make our own potable water - even in the dry season.

The lodge is situated in raw Canadian nature, on a remote island. We would like to help travellers reconnect with the wild, and relearn how to interact with it.
The lodge is surrounded by great trails on land, and areas you can access by kayak on the water. Staying here is often likened to living in a National Geographic documentary, as the eagles, whales, fish, and other wildlife go about their daily activities all around you.
This host offers accommodation and payment.
Host has indicated that they will pay at least the minimum hourly wage of their country for each hour worked and that accommodation will also be provided. They are asking for help with a business or business activity. Contact the host directly via the site messenger for more information and details about the wage provided. Any arrangements should be agreed in advance with your host.
If you are on the island while we have guests the main job is housekeeping and front end services, helping the chef with daily tasks. We also need help with maintaining the resort, and building in new systems that can make us more sustainable (eg. a greenhouse), wall art projects, helping in the kitchen, building trails, building treehouses, chopping wood, cleaning beaches - so many opportunities to contribute!
Our bedrooms are double occupancy, are heated, and have an en-suite shower and toilet. We have a full equipped kitchen, and we are able to make our own potable water - even in the dry season. There are also a few common areas where people tend to gather, if you'd like to join there, too. Meals usually operate as a shared time together around the dining room table.
