    Description

Hello, we are a friendly family of 3, myself, my husband Mackenzie and 6 year old son Masa.

We are a multicultural family of Japanese, Arabic, British and American heritages. We love spending time in nature, reading, travelling and learning about other cultures and places!

I am an educational consultant with a background in NGO work, social movements, and activism (I'm currently not working while recovering from a spinal injury). Happy to talk with guests about these topics as well as working in the NGO field or academia.

Mackenzie is a design visualisation consultant for architecture companies, he is happy to chat about landscape architecture, design vis and environmental work with those interested.

Masa is an energetic Year 1 student who loves meeting new people and is very friendly and outgoing! He loves legos, space, and helping the earth- he started a litter picking group for kids in our community.

We are a multi racial family, LGBTQ travelers are very welcome . We welcome people to stay in our home who share our values around equality and respect for all people.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We speak English, Japanese and Spanish and are happy to practice any languages with you.

If you speak Japanese, we would especially love to have you speak with us and our son!

We are also happy to teach you how to bake cookies and pies, as well as simple Japanese cooking. If you enjoy gardening and crafting you can also join us in these types of activities around the house, but this is not an obligation as we are complying with U.K. law regarding au pairs. We can also connect you with a few voluntary opportunities in the neighbourhood, again, on a purely voluntary basis if this is something you wish to do.

On the weekends if you wish to join us we are happy to take you places, we mainly go to local parks and are frequent visitors to Kew Gardens.

Twice a month we also organize litter picking sessions in the community, and are organizing a kids Art Party in July about stopping litter, you are welcome to join if you wish.

We are welcoming someone who loves kids to provide some light support to our family life. This would be either in the morning helping with some light household tasks, or in the late afternoon/early evening playing with our son (reading to him, playing games etc.)

We are happy to provide breakfast and dinner and for you to eat with us as a family if you wish, we all share the cooking and cleaning together. If you like to cook, we'd love to try your food! We mainly cook American and Japanese food, with the occasional Mexican or Thai dish.

We will comply with all UK regulations regarding au pairs.
