Description
Come live, learn, and grow with us in the Rocky Mountains 🌿
We are a permaculture homestead nestled in the mountains just outside of Golden, BC — and for the past 10 years, we’ve been building this land from the ground up into a thriving, off-grid ecosystem.
What started as bare land is now home to an off-grid Earthship (built with rammed earth tires and hempcrete), gardens, a food forest, outdoor kitchen with a wood-fired pizza oven, and a growing collection of regenerative systems. We harvest solar energy, manage our own water systems, and raise animals in a way that works with the land — not against it.
This is a place for people who want to learn by doing, get their hands in the soil, and experience a slower, more connected way of living.
What you’ll learn & experience
- Hands-on permaculture
- Organic gardening for both fresh eating and winter storage
- Animal care (pigs, laying hens, ducks)
- Off-grid living systems (water, solar, infrastructure)
- Food preservation: fermenting, baking, canning, and cooking nourishing meals
- small-scale construction projects
- help around the home & gardens
What daily life looks like
- Volunteers typically work 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, with a mix of structured projects and shared daily rhythms like:
- Feeding and caring for animals
- Gardening (planting, weeding, harvesting, watering)
- Preparing meals
- Help around the home
- Assisting with builidng, land care
Why you’ll love it here
- Live immersed in the beauty of the Rocky Mountains
- Be part of a meaningful, hands-on lifestyle
- Eat nourishing, homegrown food (Betty is a chef and keeps us very well fed!)
- Learn skills that support self-sufficiency and resilience
- Experience a balance of work, nature, and community
- Shared yoga space & occasional classes in yoga, meditaion and breathwork
- Nearby to 4 National Parks for hiking (a car is preferable due to our remote access!)

We are located in the Columbia Valley that divides the Rocky Mountains from the Columbia Mountains. This is a beautiful place that gets a good mix of sun and precipitation. Many rivers and lakes in the area, including the majestic KinBasket Reservior that stretches 160kms. There are tons of hiking and biking trails, rivers and waterfalls nearby to check out on your days off and you can walk to the river to fish from our property. *You will benefit if you have a CAR to access all that this area has to offer.
