    Description

I have a little over 1 acre in Hawaii. I have a large aquaponic situation. We raise chickens and ducks.
we are trying to do sustainable farming. We have some fruit trees and are adding more. We raise vegetables and fruits and plants. I am older now and need help to take care of this. I need help in the house if we have several people helping. We sell the eggs to help support the cost of their food.
I am also looking for a long term person to live on the farm. There job would to be to clean house, water plants and help me feed animals. This would be long term 6 months or longer I would require 20 hours a week as I would not provide food for this person EXCEPT FOR FOOD GROWN ON THE FARM. I am looking for a person who is truly interested in farming and sustainability. Someone who is not afraid to get dirty and do the job that needs to be done. Hawaii is a beautiful place and it is easy to get distracted but I need someone who is dedicated to doing the job that is asked of them and then when their hours are done to enjoy this beautiful world in Hawaii.
A little more info about myself, I am 75years young. I realize that I can not continue on without constant help. I recently developed severe arthritis in my feet. I am now getting better but more than ever I need help to keep up the farm. I have a masters degree om biology and love to experiment. I grew up on a farm (280 acres) I taught Microbiology for about 10 years at University of NE at Omaha and l love teaching adults.
The property is surrounded by mountains and is only 2 miles from the beach and a small town But remember this is out in the country about 35 miles from Honolulu. We have only a small village about 2 miles from the farm. The beach is only 2 miles away also. We have bikes you can use to go short distances. The bus system on Oahu is wonderful and will get you anywhere. I look forward to meeting happy people who have much to share with me. Looking forward to hearing from you
We have 2 dogs as pets

There is a very good bus system that goes right by the house and you can make connections to anywhere on Oahu. We do most of our work in the morning about 5 hours and then you are free to explore . I don't want any drinking, dope or smoking. That may sound harsh but that is my lifestyle. I expect everyone to clean up after them selves. Most volunteers seem to enjoy being here. there is a lot to learn. I really would like for you to have a little passion for farming, organic foods, aquaponics, living sustainable. It needs to be understood that we are a small farm out in the country. Sometimes people can not understand what a farm in the country means. You can actually see the stars at night. We do not suffer from light pollution.
