Description
Hi.
My name is John, and I am 29 years old. I represent a non-profit organization based in Arusha, in the northern part of Tanzania. While this area is known for its beauty and peace, many children and families here struggle every day.
We work with children and young people who live in very difficult conditions. Most come from extremely poor families and face challenges that no child should have to face. We believe every child deserves the chance to learn, dream, and build a better future. For us, education is more than school—it is hope, confidence, and opportunity.
Through our work, we have discovered that many children have incredible talents. All they need is support and someone who believes in them. We work from the grassroots to help children and youth grow, develop their abilities, and become the best they can be.
Each morning, we provide education for children aged 3 to 6 years, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. In the afternoons, we offer extra lessons to help children prepare for primary school, especially by improving their English. We also support primary and secondary school students with homework. In Tanzania, classrooms are often overcrowded, sometimes with more than 100 students, making individual attention very difficult. Our center provides the care and guidance these children often miss.
Beyond education, we are deeply committed to empowering girls and women. Many girls miss school during their menstrual periods because they lack access to basic sanitary products. This leads to shame, missed classes, and even dropping out of school. We provide sanitary pads to girls and give them education about menstrual health, helping them attend school with dignity and confidence.
Our mission is simple but powerful: to give children and youth the education, support, and belief they need to change their lives. When we educate a child, we don’t just change one life—we help build a stronger future for the entire community.
OUR MAIN OBJECTIVES
1.Promote community access education and skills including nursery, pre and primary school.
2.Empower community youths and women on economic activities.
3.Promote community, children and youth to realize their potentials, talents, gifts and professions.
4.Promote mentorship program for youth and support them in starting development projects.
5.Promote community access health services including health center.
6.Developing various forms of projects including poultry farming, social development and entrepreneurship activities.
We would like to welcome volunteers to our organization that share our values:
1.Team work
2.Social involvement
3.Transparency
4.Accountability
5.Commitment
6.Respect
Note that this is a project that involves children. You should be a person that likes to work and play with kids as this is a big part of the voluntary work.
We expect the volunteers to dress properly while they are at the school during class time. This means that you wear long pants or trousers and tops that are not too much revealing. You are in a position that children will look up to you and they will learn a lot from you. In this culture people are dressed like as written above. In your free time you are of course allowed to wear what you like.
There are probably a lot of different things you can help our organization with. Please discuss what you would like to do or what you are able to help with.
OUR VISION STATEMENT;
Community access quality education, better health, skills, quality and affordable social services and live in a clean and friendly environment for development.
THE CURRENT PROGRAMMES WE HAVE:
1.Enhancing education to the children aged 3-6years
2.Education to youth & children aged 7-17years
3.Poultry Farming Project
4.Provision of health and sexual education for the young boys and girls.

WHAT WE HAVE ALREADY ACHIEVED
~ We have successfully completed the construction of our new nursery school, which includes 4 classrooms, 1 office, a toilet, and a kitchen. This milestone was made possible through the strong cooperation and dedication of our wonderful volunteers.
~The construction is now almost fully complete, with only a few final finishing touches remaining, such as minor interior works and basic setup requirements.
~This achievement is a result of the commitment and generosity of our volunteers, who connected our foundation with people around the world and supported us through fundraising efforts to make this project a reality.
~In addition, previous fundraising campaigns helped us renovate and improve our existing classrooms, creating a safer, more friendly, and conducive learning environment for the children.
~We were also able to purchase some of essential furniture and learning materials, including desks, chairs, and books needed for effective classroom learning.
🪫Remaining Needs
Although the school building is nearly complete, we still require:
-Support to finish simple final works
-Operational costs for one full year, which will enable us to provide full access, accommodation, and quality education to all students at the school.
-Through poultry farming Project,We gave the people of our community the opportunity to learn how to do poultry farming. We were also able to employ some of these man and woman and with this we are trying to get people out of poor circumstances. Due to some challenges.
A big part of what we want to achieve can’t be achieved without money. Therefore, we would like to ask volunteers to help us doing fundraising.

What else ...
Arusha is located in northern Tanzania and is a peaceful, relaxing city. It is known as the tourism hub of the country and stands out among Tanzania’s major cities for its calm environment.
Arusha serves as the main starting point for some of Tanzania’s most iconic adventures, including climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru, and Mount Oldonyo Lengai, as well as wildlife safaris to Serengeti National Park,Tarangire National Park,Lake Manyara National Park, Arusha National Park, and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, among many others.
The city is well connected by reliable public transportation from Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), including buses and minibuses. Recently, a train route has also been established for long-distance travel between the northern zone and the central zone of Tanzania.
We highly recommend arriving via Kilimanjaro International Airport, as it is the easiest point for us to meet you. Upon your arrival and departure, we will organize private transportation for airport pick-up and drop-off. Our organization will take care of all arrival and departure arrangements to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience.
