  Description

  I live in a small village in southern Tuscany. I run a research centre that focuses on traditional foods and food practices, linked to the Slow Food Movement.
  
  The house is in the village (no garden) and parts of it are anywhere between 300 - 500 years old It is completely renovated with a new state-of-the-art kitchen and comfortable bedrooms, a large dining room and a library/sitting room with TV. There is one bathroom and one powder room.
  
  The house is spread over three floors and the stairs are VERY steep so it not appropriate for people with mobility issues.
  
  I have two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Ike who is 10 and Millie who is 15 months.
  
  We are a farming community and you will enjoy it if you enjoy a peaceful life and want to get a sense of what the real Italy is. This is a largely unknown part of Tuscany and we have few tourists. There is very little English spoken.
  
  We are close to several thermal springs (Sorano, Saturnia, San Filippo and San Casciano).

  Being here will give you the opportunity to get to know the local people who are generous and welcoming. There are events in the autumn (fall) linked to the grape and olive oil harvests.

  Help

  I need somebody who can help me with some basic wood care: sanding back and staining the internal windows and removing some paint from architraves after a recent paint job.
  
  I often travel with Ike and Millie so we would have to see if dog sitting was necessary closer to the time. But if so they are very low maintenance, they need to be fed twice a day and walked three times. Plus a daily grooming session - brushed and tooth cleaned.
