Description
Hello and welcome!
We are an eco lodge, a small eco-hotel and community project located. in the Afro-Pacific village of Termales, Nuquí, Chocó, Colombia, surrounded by jungle, river and the ocean.
Our goal is to create a space where travelers can reconnect with nature and local culture while supporting sustainable tourism and community empowerment. This is a family-run lodge built with local materials and maintained by local hands. We collaborate with neighbors, fishermen, and artisans, promoting zero-waste practices and respect for the environment.
Volunteers can help with different areas such as gardening, eco-construction, digital content creation, hospitality, or language exchange with local staff. We love people who bring creativity, initiative, and positive energy.
We currently employ 7 locally paid staff. Their roles include housekeeping, cooking, maintenance, and guest assistance. Each team member supports the daily operations of the lodge and helps create a welcoming and authentic experience for our guests.
If you love the ocean, tropical nature, and meaningful cultural exchange, you’ll feel at home here. 🌺

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Staying at the eco lodge means living in the heart of the Afro-Pacific culture of Colombia. Our small village, Termales, is home to warm, generous people who live in harmony with the ocean and the jungle.
Workawayers will have the chance to learn about local traditions, Afro-Pacific cuisine, medicinal plants, music, and daily life in a remote coastal community. You can join locals while fishing, cooking coconut-based dishes, making cacao
We often collaborate with our neighbors for cultural talks, whale-watching trips, and birdwatching walks. It’s a space for genuine connection — between travelers, locals, and nature.
This is not just volunteering — it’s an opportunity to slow down, breathe with the rhythm of the tropics, and be part of a community that values simplicity, respect, and joy. 🌴✨
Help
At our eco lodge, we welcome volunteers who are passionate about nature, sustainability, and cultural exchange. The type of help depends on your skills and interests — there’s always something meaningful to do!
Some of the main areas include:
• 🌱 Gardening and eco-construction – helping us maintain our organic garden, plant trees, or work on small wood projects using local materials.
• 🏡 Hospitality and guest experience – assisting with check-ins or sharing moments with travelers from around the world.
• 📸 Creative and digital projects – taking photos or videos, helping with social media content, or improving our online presence.
• 🌊 Community and environmental activities – supporting beach clean-ups, educational workshops, or cultural events with local families.
We like to work side by side, share ideas, and learn from each other. We truly value volunteers who bring positive energy, curiosity, and love for nature.

Accommodation
Workawayers will stay at the eco farm, in a private tent by the river, surrounded by pure jungle sounds and tropical nature.
The tent is safe, covered, and protected by a roof, so you can enjoy the feeling of being in nature with comfort and privacy.
There is access to a shared bathroom and toilet, and we provide breakfast and lunch every day made with local ingredients from our garden and nearby community. And dinner is a lighter meal
It’s a peaceful place to disconnect from the city, listen to the river, and live a simple, meaningful experience close to nature. 🌿✨
What else ...
We are located in Termales, Chocó, a small Afro-Pacific village surrounded by jungle, waterfalls, and the ocean — only accessible by boat from Nuquí (about 40 minutes). It’s a remote and peaceful place, perfect for people who enjoy simple living and deep contact with nature.
Although we are in the middle of nature, the internet connection is quite good, which allows volunteers to stay connected or even work online if needed.
There are no roads or ATMs, so please bring enough cash and an open mind for a slower rhythm of life. Here, everything follows the sound of the ocean and the rain.
We value volunteers who are respectful, proactive, flexible, and curious about local culture and sustainable living.
This is not just a project — it’s a space for learning, community, and connection with the natural world. 💚
