  • Description

    Hello, my name is Khun. I am the responsible person for a youth development training program located near Taunggyi, Shan state. This is a new project that started at the beginning of January 2020. We are focusing on civic education of young people (18-25 years old) from different ethnic and religion groups of Shan State. Our program currently provides 3 months training with main focus at:
    - Human rights;
    - Gender equality;
    - Politics and democracy;
    - Leadership skills and self-development;
    - Media class and fake news
    - Computer skills;
    - English classes; and
    - Art supporting social change.

    Our objective is to encourage the youth to participate in Democracy transitional process in Myanmar and prepare them to be a good leaders in our country. We try to teach them the skills that they unfortunately lack after finishing the university. After three months training program, all of our students have to go back to their specific communities and do the three time follow up training.

    In addition to that, we also have some fun during the week. The sport activities (football, volleyball, running) and farming club are running on daily base. During the weekends, we organise hiking trips, visiting local communities, sport activities and games. You are more than welcome to be part of it!

    And how YOU can be involved? We are really nice, young and open-minded community. We would be really happy if you can ran English classes and help us with new ideas. Depending on your skills, you can be involved in different activities as sport/teaching/organisation development/social media support. There is always room to improve. Anyway, we have 1 acre of land available for new projects and activities!

    During your free time, you can explore the beauty of our province. We are surrounded by mountains so you can do some hiking e.g. Shan state mountain, visiting local nearby villages, ancient pagoda Kaku (similar to Bagan), Htum Sum cave, Inle lake (40 km away), Kalaw (70km).
