Description
Hello volunteers! We would love to have anyone who could stay for one or two weeks weeks depending on your availability to help us teaching English, sports, arts, social studies and be involved in various activities with our students for our summer camp.
NOTE: Despite the current situation going on in the country for the last 2+ years, Taunggyi in southern Shan state where we are located in completely safe. Our 5-acre campus is also in the countryside just outside the city which makes it even safer. The youth in Myanmar have barely no options for education, and this is one more reason to come and help them change their lives at a time where no one else is providing them with a future.
Hello! We are located in Taunggyi, Southern Shan State. We are running a 15-month Arts & Social Sciences College program with 30 youth from all over the country comprising of 3-4 religious groups as well as 15-18 different ethnic groups. Our students are involved in an alternative and holistic learning approach.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Our students are between 15-25 years old, thus similar ages of many volunteers, so volunteers would be able to spend time and share experiences from youth of Myanmar.
Our students are from various religions and ethnic groups, they come from all over the country, some from places foreigners are not allowed to go due to conflicts. This would be a great way for volunteers to learn about the real stories of the country outside the façade of the popular tourist destinations most foreigners go to.
Our students are eager to learn so if volunteers come as a teacher, volunteers will have the gratifying experience of helping other human beings with new skills and a better future.Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.

There is a kitchen with all the necessities to cook (the school kitchen is also available to use for cooking). Pillows, blankets, tables and chairs are offered as well.
What else ...
Taunggyi does not have many 'famous' sightseeing. However, it is surrounded by mountains and a beautiful countryside. If volunteers can ride a motorbike, we have plenty to borrow (or along with staff and/or students to drive you around) to visit outside of Taunggyi. Inle, Kalaw, Kakku, Loikaw, Hopone, Pekon and Pindaya are all under 3 hours drive and beautiful places to visit.
For simple relax time volunteers can go around the city with students, sitting in tea shops discussing about life and more. We also often have late night fires at the boys' hostel talking and playing music.A little more information

From building showers to preparing the garden for new crops, teaching English in the process to the students interacting with them.
It is trully a great experience I strongly recommend to everyone who is ready to live with "the basics".
