    Description

We’re a small family – just the two of us and our energetic 3-year-old son – living on 2.5 acres about 7 minutes from Devonport. We both work locally, and we’d love some help with the garden and setting up a small unit for future workawayers. There’s plenty of space here for your camping setup, so come make yourself at home!

A bit about us: we love traveling, film, good food, and spending time with friends. We’ve hosted several workawayers in the past, before our son came along. We’ve had amazing people from Holland, Italy, France, Hong Kong, and Réunion Island – and we’re excited to open our home again! We love learning from different cultures and are more than happy to help you with English if needed. Since we grew up in the area, we’d be glad to show you around or point you to the local sights (like Cradle Mountain), or maybe join you for a cider tasting or a vineyard trip.

We invite workawayers to share in cooking and tidying up, and you’re welcome to eat with us – we provide the food. You’ll also have access to our shower and toilet facilities. And on the property, we’ve got a few perks, like an indoor pool and a home gym setup!

In exchange for a camping spot, we ask for about 3 hours of “help” a day, which can be spread over the weekend so you’re free to find paid work during the week. We usually prefer 2-week stays, and it’s best if you have your own transportation and travel insurance. Just a heads up that we can’t help with the 88-day visa requirements, as we don’t have an ABN.

Wi-Fi is available, so staying connected won’t be a problem. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Here are some activities we love to share with our workawayers:
    • Language Exchange: We’re happy to help you improve your English and would love to learn a few words or phrases in your language, too.
    • Exploring Local Sights: We know the area well and can guide you to iconic spots like Cradle Mountain, the local cider house, vineyards, and other hidden gems around Devonport. If time allows, we’d enjoy going along with you for the adventure!
    • Sharing Meals & Cooking Together: We invite you to cook and enjoy meals with us. This is a fun way to share our favorite recipes and learn about your food traditions as well.
    • Movie Nights & Storytelling: We’re big movie fans, so movie nights with different genres and cultures are always welcome. We also love hearing travel stories and experiences from other places – it’s a great way to learn about each other’s lives and perspectives.
    • Socialising with Friends: We often gather with friends, and you’d be welcome to join! It’s a relaxed way to immerse yourself in local life, meet new people, and enjoy good food and conversation.
