    Description

Welcome to our Organic Veggie Farm in Clinton, New Zealand!

Hello, and thank you for checking out my profile! My name is Pia, and I’ve been living on this beautiful 10-acre farm in Clinton, New Zealand, since 1999. Though the farm is no longer a commercial operation, it remains a peaceful place to grow organic vegetables and enjoy the beauty of rural life.

I’m excited to host Workaway travelers who are eager to connect with nature, and lend a hand in keeping this little slice of paradise thriving.

We have spent over 20 years nurturing this land with organic practices and a deep respect for nature. Most of the gardens are housed in tunnel houses. I also grow herbs that I use for small side projects, such as tea blends, tinctures and salves.

Other people living on the farm are Shaun (co-owner), and two friends living in tiny homes.
The farm is also home to four friendly cats, who will likely make themselves part of your daily routine.

The hosting and farm activities are fully managed by me.

    What I Need Help With

I’m looking for friendly, hands-on individuals—preferably with some experience in gardening, landscaping, or DIY—to assist with various tasks around the farm. These may include:
    • Planting, weeding, and harvesting vegetables and herbs.
    • General garden maintenance and tidying.
    • Composting and soil preparation.
    • Seasonal tasks such as pruning or planting new crops.
    • Maintaining the tunnel houses where much of the gardening takes place.
    • Helping with small property maintenance projects or repairs.

While experience is preferred, enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and a strong work ethic are just as important! Work is about five hours a day, five days a week, with weekends or two days off to relax or explore the area.
