We have bought an old farmhouse last year with 1 ha of land, which is growing apple trees, vine, and vegetables. After we've had enough of the city (I am originally from Berlin and my husband from NY), where we lived for 20 years: London.
Now it is quiet and we are surrounded by fields, plum and nut orchards. My husband and I formerly worked in the film and media business, now we are only doing small projects on the side and otherwise live full-time on our little farm, where I also work as a yoga teacher (mostly online, these days).
Our project is to enjoy life: We have a large swimming pool, equipped with a slide and floaties, a tennis court with basketball hoop as an alternative to tennis, and wine & apple cider.
Although it sounds big, we are producing solely for our own consumption. It is very small in comparison to commercial farms!
Our dog likes her daily walks through the orchard or the forest and we also have a pony farm nearby to go horse riding.
If you are looking for peace and tranquility, combined with some pleasure activities, then this is the right place for you, although you won't be required to take part in the leasure activities if you prefer to relax, we would just ask you to help with the harvest and garden, as well as small building projects!
We are strictly vegetarian, so apart from dog & cat food there won't be any meat in the house. Our own diet is vegan, but if you'd like your dairy products, that should be ok with us. There'll be plenty of very healthy food to eat, and the occasional vegan ice cream when it's hot.

DIY and building projects
We have a wonderful market in town where we do our weekly shopping. In the summer, there are also night markets and village festivals. The local riding ranch is another hangout, where they often do bonfires with music.
My husband and I are multicultural, as we are German/American, lived in England and India and now in France. So, there you already have a mix of cultures!
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
At the moment (end of August) we are hitting harvest time. We have 50 apple trees, 150 vines and a few pumpkins to be picked and processed. I would think that anyone can pick and have fun with it, trying the different varieties of apples and getting the grapes ready for wine production.
We have 1ha of land and sometimes we need to do some gardening, i.e. raking the leaves, mowing the lawn, or planting new trees.
We have a few building projects, i.e. pointing stone walls, securing a staircase, clearing out the old barn, laying a concrete floor, if anyone feels up for that.
Otherwise live is easy on the old farm. Our only animals are a dog (lurcher) and 5 kittens.

I'm happy to teach German & English (I have university and TESOL qualification)
The accommodation is quite comfy. We have a 4x4m bell tent, furnished and equipped with a bed and comfortable mattress. It sits near the plum orchard with beautiful views, near our tennis court and the swimming pool but tucked away from the main house for more privacy. There is a newly build bathroom with power shower in the big barn behind the house and a WC, which is all to yourself. There's also an outdoor shower by the pool.
When it gets cold, we have a pigeonnier adjacent to the main house, with two rooms, a bedroom and a sitting room below.
You can always go swimming, the pool is heated! We also have a tennis court and a basketball hoop.
The horse ranch is a 15min walk away.
We have a bunch of vintage racing bikes that you could take to the pretty little village, 5 mins away. It has a bar and a restaurant, a shop and a post office.
There is no local transport such as busses as we live in the rural countryside. But there are trains, in case you'd like to visit the big cities, such as Bordeaux or Toulouse. Also, I'm happy to drive anywhere within 40kms if anyone needs a lift.
