    Description

We have bought an old farmhouse and big barn, which needs a lot of renovation work. On the land, we are growing apple trees, vine, and vegetables. After we've had enough of the city (I am originally from Berlin and my husband from New York) having lived in London for 20 years, we now chose country live.
Now it is quiet and we are surrounded by fields, plum and nut orchards. My husband and I formerly worked in the film and media business, now we are only doing small projects on the side and otherwise live full-time on our little farm, where I also work as a yoga teacher (mostly online, these days).
We are producing solely for our own consumption. It is very small in comparison to commercial farms!
Our dog likes her daily walks in the orchard or the forest and we also have a pony farm nearby to go horse riding.
If you are looking for peace and tranquility, combined with some pleasure activities, then this is the right place for you, although you won't be required to take part in the leisure activities if you prefer to relax, we would just ask you to help with the harvest and garden, as well as small building projects!
We are strictly vegetarian, so apart from dog & cat food there won't be any meat in the house. Our own diet is vegan, but if you'd like your dairy products, that should be ok with us. There'll be plenty of very healthy food to eat!

We have a wonderful market in town where we do our weekly shopping. In the summer, there are also night markets and village festivals. The local riding ranch is another hangout, where they often do bonfires with music.
My husband and I are multicultural, as we are German/American, lived in England and India and now in France. So, there you already have a mix of cultures!

RESTORING THE OLD FARMHOUSE AND BARN, NEEDS DIY AND BUILDING HELP!!!!

We are growing vegetables for all year consumption, so we are constantly planting and watering, where we always need help with.
We have 50 apple trees, 250 vines and a few pumpkins to be picked and processed from August onwards.
We have 1ha of land and sometimes we need to do some gardening, i.e. raking the leaves, mowing the lawn, or planting new trees.
We have a few building projects, i.e. pointing stone walls, securing a staircase, clearing out the old barn, laying a concrete floor, if anyone feels up for that.
If there are any carpenters out there, we have plenty of work for and will treat you well!
Our only animals are a dog (lurcher) and 5 kittens.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

The accommodation is quite comfy. We have a 4x4m bell tent, furnished and equipped with a bed and comfortable mattress. It sits near the plum orchard with beautiful views, near our tennis court and the swimming pool but tucked away from the main house for more privacy. There is a newly build bathroom with power shower in the big barn behind the house and a WC, which is all to yourself. There's also an outdoor shower by the pool.
When it gets cold, we have a pigeonnier adjacent to the main house, with two rooms, a bedroom and a sitting room below.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

You can always go swimming, the pool is heated! We also have a tennis court and a basketball hoop.

The horse ranch is a 15min walk away.

We have a bunch of vintage racing bikes that you could take to the pretty little village, 5 mins away. It has a bar and a restaurant, a shop and a post office.

There is no local transport such as busses as we live in the rural countryside. But there are trains, in case you'd like to visit the big cities, such as Bordeaux or Toulouse. Our nearest train station is Marmande.
