We are a small group of family and friends that operate a cosy guesthouse in the heart of Transylvania, in the charming village of Mesendorf, between the cities of Brasov and Sighisoara. We are located in the Saxon region of Transylvania, a region with unspoiled medieval villages with fortified churches, spectacular UNESCO world heritage sites, traditional arts & crafts, all set in one of the most spectacular and pristine natural landscapes in Europe. Surrounding our guesthouse, there are hills with forests and meadows filled with a rich selection of plants and wildlife (deer, fox or wild boar, but also species protected by the EU, such as bear).
Our guests stay in a traditional Saxon property, organised around a generous inner yard and composed of a main, large house with tall, wooden ceilings, and various annexes. We have carefully restored the entire property so as to preserve Saxon heritage and offer our guests the comfort of our days.
Our team is composed entirely of people from the village. We are all passionate about our work and want to offer our guests the best possible experience. We value teamwork and friendship and we are always happy to meet new people. The best part of the day is the evening when we share a glass of wine with our guests and trade stories by the fire. Oh! And we have three adorable dogs that are the starts of the guesthouse and are spoiled by all our guests.
We are looking for responsible and dynamic people to help with the daily tasks of running the guesthouse and share the experience. You will get to experience the authentic Transylvanian village life, taste our delicious cuisine, explore unspoiled natural landscapes and have fun with us and our wonderful guests.

Help around the house
Travellers will gain hospitality experience in running a guesthouse. They will also get to enjoy quality time with wonderful guests from all over the world, share stories and experiences.
In addition, travellers will get to know and explore Transylvania, its rich history, cultural and ethnic diversity and unique traditions. This region is so special that HRH Prince Charles of Wales fell in love with it and, in 2006, The Prince bought and restored an 18th Century Saxon house in Viscri, a near-by village, and is working through various initiatives to protect the unique local way of life and promote sustainable tourism.
Furthermore, travellers will get to enjoy a designated Natura 2000 European protected area (part of a coordinated network of Europe's most valuable and threatened species and habitats).

We have a small, cozy guesthouse and we need help with the daily tasks:
- greeting, checking in, entertaining and talking with our guests (sharing stories, telling them about the guesthouse, the area and the available activities, etc.)
- help with serving breakfast, lunch or dinner
- serving drinks (we offer coffee, wine or beer)
- some cleaning of the common areas
- trekking tours or other activities with the guests (visits to the sheepfold, to the potter etc.)
- garden or orchard work (we have our own garden where we grow vegetables and a small orchard with apples, pears, plums, etc.)
We recommend a minimum stay of one month, since this gives everybody the chance to learn about the guesthouse and the area and to take full advantage of the exchange.
Travellers will stay in one of the guest rooms in the guesthouse, a double or twin room (depending on preference) with a private bathroom and no more than two people per room.
We are a friendly group, very passionate about our work at the guesthouse. We work hard but also like to have a lot of fun. We enjoy a good chat over a glass of wine or of "palinca" (our locally made plum-brandy). We expect travellers to be responsible and dependable, treat us, our guests, the village and the surrounding nature with respect. We also expect them to be open and have fun and wish for them to enjoy their time with us to the max. We will do the same in return. :)
In their spare time, travellers can take part in all the activities available at the guesthouse (trekking, cycling, hiking, exploring the village and the surrounding hills, getting to know all the wonderful local people). Apart from the village life, travellers can explore the near-by cities of Sighisoara (a UNESCO world heritage site 30 min drive from us) and Brasov (main mountain resort, 1 hour drive from us).
