  Description

  We are a young family of 4 living in Tuxpan, Veracruz. Our two daughters, Ana and Nisa (4 years and 1 year); myself, Esli; my wife, Silvana and our dog, Quinn. We love the food, traditions and culture of our locality; the Huasteca region, located in the north of Veracruz. We try to live as sustainably as possible and have an eco ranch with 200 hectares of land.
  
  somos una familia de 4, Ana (tres años), Nisa (1 año), Silvana (mamá) y Eslí (papá). Amamos la comida, las tradiciones y a cultura de la region Huasteca, ubicada al norte de Veracruz. Intentamos vivir de forma sustentable y tenemos un proyecto agroecologico de conservación en una granja de 200 ha de bosque tropical.

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  We cook fresh food everyday using ingredients from local markets or that we grow ourselves. On our farm we are attempting to implement sustainable meat production and a butterfly farm. In addition to this, we are currently working with local biologists to conserve endangered flora and fauna. We would love for you to help us with our aim of creating a sustainable ranch filled with projects that enhance the local environment.
  Here you will be able to practise your Spanish by completely immersing yourself in Mexican life. Personally, I would love to improve my English and German. However, more importantly, we would love for our daughters to learn whatever you can teach them. Be it a language, an art or something more academic.
  We love to show our guests the traditions and customs of the local area. Tuxpan is a beautiful city, with a rich heritage. However you will see the issues that have arisen due to the presence of vast multinational oil and gas corporations. We want to gain the opinions and knowledge of our visitors and see in which ways they can help us protect and cultivate Tuxpan’s ecosystem and cultural heritage.
  Furthermore, you will have opportunities to learn to fish, kayak, scuba dive, cook or any other skill we can help you with in the local area.

Contamos con una granja en la que estamos implementando un proyecto de producción orgánica de carne. amamos y reproducimos las mariposas locales y estamos clasificando la flora y fauna local.

  Help

  We are happy to welcome anybody who would like to share some of their energy and have a positive influence on the local area.
  On our ranch, the work will consist of feeding the animals, building fences or structures and helping with general maintenance.
  In our home, the work will consist of a little cleaning, tidying and playing with the girls.
  However, you will have a lot of time away from the ranch. During this time we would love to know what YOU can offer the local area. Where do your expertise lay? What are you interested in? What difference would you like to make to the community?
  Would you like to grow exotic plants? Do you want to cultivate fruits and vegetables? Would you like to learn to fish or kayak? Do you want to make a film about the local area? We want to help you carry out your objectives and ideas concerning the local area.
  
  Podemos recibir a cualquiera que dese compartir un poco de su energía. Aunque amaríamos recibir a alguien que sepa hornear pan o que tenga nociones básicas de bioconstrucción. También nos gustaría recibir a personas a las que les gusten los niños, ya que queremos que nuestras hijas conozcan otras culturas y formas de ver la vida.

  Accommodation

  Our house is in the city of Tuxpan, Veracruz. In the Huasteca region of Mexico. We have a cattle ranch 20 minutes from the house, where we raise animals and conserve nature.
  You will have your own room, with a double bed and a shared bathroom. We are a 2 minute walk from the river and about a 15 minute drive from the beach.
  By bus, we are located approximately 3 hours from Mexico City and the closest airport is in the city of Tampico, 1.5 hours away.
  We love to cook and are more than happy to share our meals with you. The archaeological site of Tajin is only 1.5 hours away.
  
  Vivimos en una pequeña casa en la ciudad de Tuxpan Veracruz. En la región Huasteca de México. Tenemos una granja ganadera a 20 minutos de la casa, en la que criamos animales y conservamos la naturaleza.
  
  Estamos ubicados a dos horas y media de la ciudad de México en autobus.
  
  El aeropuerto más cercano se encuentra en la ciudad de Tampico a una hora y media.
  
  Ofrecemos una habitación privada, con una cama doble y baño compartido.
  
  Nuestra casa cuenta con un pequeño jardín y esta a solo una cuadra del rio y a 20 minutos de la playa.
  
  Ofrecemos compartir todas nuestras comidas, nos gusta mucho la cocina.
  
  La zona arqueológica de Tajin está cerca.

  La ciudad cuenta con una zona RAMSAR, llena de manglares que se pueden recorrer en Kayac. Hay muchas comunidades cercanas en las que aun hay presencia indígena y afroamericana. Hay una oferta gastronómica amplia que vale la pena conocer.
