A small child in blue boots and a yellow shirt walks along a grassy path through wildflowers, toward a white house with a bright red door.
This cozy bedroom features a wooden bed, orange wallpaper, a dresser, framed pictures, open window, bedside table with books, certificates, and plush toys.
Two men sit closely together, smiling and laughing in what appears to be a cozy pub decorated with vintage whiskey and stout signs on the walls.
A joyful man sits on a boat bench, hugging two laughing children with emoji faces. Ocean visible outside, another man in a red hat stands behind.
A black and white cat lounges on a green couch, next to a colorful crocheted cushion. Soft lighting creates a cozy, peaceful atmosphere inside the room.

    Description

I’m Eoghan, 30 years old and working in the charity sector within Mental Health. Recently moved back to my home house in rural Ireland and looking ahead at this summer to try and get jobs done around the place. The house is 180 years old and kept with wild gardens and ponds around the grounds.

I live here with my father who is retired and a keen gardener. We are both fluent Irish speakers and big advocates for promoting Irish music, culture and language. I love to cook, run and just getting into cycling at the moment.

Would be looking for short stays to help with gardening work, happy to help show you around and have an enjoyable experience for your help.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are native Irish speakers in our house and love to share the stories from our folklore and culture. We have a strong network of local traditional musicians who regularly call to the house also. We’d hope to be able to give you a flavour of the Irish culture, our history and our sense of community.
We would share most meals and be an opportunity to sit and chat about your culture and ours are grow our mutual understandings.

From an ecological point of view our wild garden and composting have been featured on national television here in Ireland and offer great biodiversity examples. Again we are keen to show you the cultural history behind some of the many plants we find in our gardens and explain the impact they have on the local fauna.

The work we will be doing will be looking at various jobs around the house like weeding, painting and planting.
