    Description

Hi! I’m Carolina, host in Cochabamba, Bolivia.

I’m looking for responsible and motivated helpers to assist with practical tasks around the house such as gardening (mainly weeding during rainy season), painting, small repairs, carpentry, cleaning, and general maintenance. Tasks vary depending on current needs and your skills.

You will have your own private room and bathroom, access to the kitchen, and Wi-Fi. Food is not included on this deal.

The exchange is 20 hours per week, based on a task system. For each stay, I provide a list of tasks with estimated hours. You are free to organize your schedule, as long as there is consistent progress and tasks are completed properly.

I value reliability, independence, and work done with care. This place is best suited for people who take commitments seriously and are comfortable with hands-on work.

If you’re interested, please send me a message, and I’ll let you know what type of work is currently available.

Travellers will benefit from experiencing daily life in Bolivia, beyond tourism. They can practice Spanish in a real-life environment, learn how things work locally, and gain insight into Bolivian culture, routines, and mindset.

This exchange offers a grounded cultural experience based on shared daily life, responsibility, and mutual respect, rather than guided activities or tourism.

  • Help

    Help

The help requested is task-based and result-oriented. Tasks are agreed in advance and must be completed within the total hours of the stay.

For example, a three-week stay equals 60 total hours. A list of tasks will be provided, and helpers are free to decide how many hours they work per day, as long as the tasks are completed and visible progress is made throughout the stay.

It is important that the room, bathroom, and common areas are returned clean and in the same condition as received (clean sheets, towels, and room).

If you get sick and are unable to work, you may rest for up to two days. If more time is needed, the stay will need to be adjusted or charged accordingly.

If this way of working suits you, please send me a message and I’ll let you know what type of work is currently available.

The house is within walking distance of many places, as Cochabamba is a mid-sized city surrounded by mountains. It’s known for its pleasant climate—the best in Bolivia—and is a great place to practice Spanish. Public transportation is available one block away, and the area is considered safe and residential.

During your time off, you can explore the beautiful city of Cochabamba, which offers a mix of cultural sites, markets, and natural attractions. The city is surrounded by mountains, perfect for hiking and enjoying stunning views.

Nearby, you’ll find local markets where you can taste traditional Bolivian food and buy handmade crafts. Plaza 14 de Septiembre is the main square, a lively place with cafes and street performers.

Public transportation is easy to access—buses and minibuses run frequently and are just a block away from the house, making it simple to get around the city and visit nearby towns.

For those interested in nature, there are parks and small reserves close by, as well as the famous Cristo de la Concordia statue, one of the tallest statues of Jesus in the world, which you can visit by cable car or stairs.

If you prefer a more relaxed day, the city has plenty of cozy cafes and quiet spots where you can read or enjoy the local atmosphere.
