Learn how to live sustainably on the planet

I like to have an enriching, fun, creative work environment around my property that supports everyones health and well being on all levels. There will be ample time available to explore the rogue valley and community.

With an abundance of awesome local music and a thriving local community you will be enriched not only by the work experience here but by everything else that comes with living in a smallish community like the rogue valley.

We landsteward 13 acres, 10 of which is forested in beautiful Southern Oregon. We are looking for folks who would enjoy working in nature on a myriad of cool land projects such as: trail building, garden bed construction, plant care, fencing, pond waterproofing, building sustainable compost systems and designing grey water irrigation systems. We are devoting 2016/2017 to the environment and will be making a very special effort this year to live more sustainably.

We enjoy working with folks who are good communicators and who strive to make a positive difference in the world.

Rebecca and Jason, two gems from Texas, pouring their love back into the earth through planting an incense cedar tree. This tree will be around for many years to come.
Paige and Georgia from Ohio building our fire pit with the help of Aaron from Ireland. Such a fun and dynamic group of passionate young folks who were so inspiring
Alana inspired us to go vegan (at least while she and Ben were here) and educated us all on the environmental impact of eating meat. They also plastered our dining room using earthen plaster and cooked us up some delicious gourmet meals. We also got very attached to their dog Tolkien. We have become good friends since they both feel part of our extended family.
Seth and Lexi designed our grey water system the first time they were here and then installed it when they came back. This involved the hard work of hand digging trenches during the heat of the summer which they did happily. Both of these guys were such an inspirational couple. They inspired us to adopt the ways of permaculture and many projects have since been completed as a result of their initial input and vision.
John post trenching
Rudy and Evelyn, pre Halloween costume party
Rudy, Evelyn and John became known as the infamous "REJ", an inseparable trio that helped with the initial stages of our pond waterproofing project. REJ were an absolute treat to have stay with us and a total blast. They will be missed.
