    Description

We offer pay for cleaning work done at the current minimum wage in Scotland. At the moment we are looking for people who have cleaning experience to help with our self catering holiday rentals.

Our home is in a rural location 1 mile from the village, 6 miles from Perth and 12 miles from Dundee. There is an abundance of wildlife here. From our windows we can see deer, pheasants, herons, partridges, hares, squirrels, buzzards, foxes, ducks, swans, wild geese and lots of songbirds in our 8 acre property.

My wife and I are an active couple with varied life experiences, easy going, good sense of humour. We very much enjoy having workaway volunteers to share learning opportunities and we want them to enjoy their time with us as well as finding the experience rewarding.

We currently would welcome help with some garden maintenance, some DIY and general tasks around the home. We have a garden which is constantly evolving to provide an interesting space from which to enjoy our rural views and fill our kitchen with fresh herbs and other produce. The vegetable and fruit area within the garden supplies us with fruit and vegetables which we use within our cooking. We love sharing recipes and cooking with workaways as well as learning about food from other cultures. Ideas to keep improving the home and garden would be welcome as will help within the house, including cleaning and cooking occasionally. We have a few chickens and friendly horse!

Special knowledge and skills are welcome, but not required as we can share our knowledge/give help and instruction - common sense and a good work ethic go a long way. There is a good opportunity to learn / share skills in DIY, gardening, log splitting, cooking, wine making, food preserving......
There's all sorts to be done, from gardening to building to creative projects (eg restoring an old horse carriage; creating a rockery; creating a wildflower meadow)
    Gardening, potting plants etc
Landscaping and creating flower & vegetable beds, strimming, trimming hedges, trees, planting and garden maintenance
    Chainsaw & log splitting
Moving and tidying materials i.e. stone and bricks
DIY Painting gates, sheds, fencing, window frames etc

We provide food so that you can cook for yourself at your comfort in your own Studio apartment or your own room in a shared apartment, but we also share some meals together. We don't smoke, so if you do smoke we ask that you only ever smoke outside and we would ask that you keep all areas you use clean and tidy.

Scotland has much to offer its visitors and a car is advantageous but there is a good public transport network available. Perth is the central hub of Scotland and is a great place from which to access the whole country. The area is rich in history, with many beautiful and interesting places to visit. Edinburgh, Glasgow, St Andrews and the east coast villages of Fife are only an hour away. Also known as the “gateway” to the Highlands, the small towns and villages of northern Perthshire are easy to access for time off. There are a large number of big climbs and Munros around the Perthshire area including some of the well know hills such as Lawers, Schiehallion, Ben Chonzie & Meall nan Tarmachan to name a few.
