    Description

    Dear Workawayers,

I’m urgently looking for a kind and reliable person to support me with household tasks and cooking – as I recently broke my shoulder.

    Ideally, you are:
    • at least 25 years old (so you can be insured to drive my car if needed)
    • in possession of a valid driving license
    • independent, respectful, and happy to lend a hand where needed

We’re a warm-hearted family living in a small village, just 45 minutes by public transport from Berlin – surrounded by forest and right next to a beautiful lake.

I’ve been a yoga teacher for over 15 years, a mother of five, and a life coach. My three sons (11, 11, and 14) live with me in our main house. Workawayers with children are also welcome!

My vision for our garden is to create a space where life flourishes, nourishes, and regenerates – a place to share knowledge and learn from one another, to exchange ideas and grow visions… or simply to enjoy a morning coffee together in peace.

We warmly invite you to join us, so we can support each other on our journeys. Your help – in whatever form it takes – will be deeply appreciated.

We’re a multicultural family: my husband, who is currently living with us part-time, is English. The father of my sons is Mexican and lives just around the corner – he is actively involved in their care.

We follow Tibetan Buddhism, live with open minds and open hearts, and don’t take life too seriously. Hosting Workawayers has always brought us inspiration, laughter, and connection – it’s a joy to welcome people with different skills and stories.

I myself started out as a scientist in molecular biology, but after my second child I changed paths and became a yoga teacher for women. One of my main areas of work is guiding pregnant women toward natural birth and supporting them to become relaxed, connected mothers. I’m currently working on creating online courses and workshops.

We are experienced hosts – and we’re so happy to start hosting again in 2026! 🤗

P.S. We also spend time regularly in Australia – so Aussies are especially welcome to connect with us!

Looking forward to hearing from you,
    Susanne

Of course, you can practice your German with us, or even pick up some Spanish from our children – and since my husband is English, English is also one of the main languages spoken in our family. So you’ll feel at home even if you don’t speak German yet.

You can immerse yourself in nature by exploring the forest just behind our house, taking refreshing swims in the nearby lake, or enjoying peaceful bike rides through the countryside. Our location offers a calm and grounded atmosphere – ideal for anyone looking to relax, recharge, and reconnect.

And if you’re craving some urban energy, Berlin is easy to reach by public transport – especially in summer, it’s perfect for day trips to museums, cafés, parks, and festivals.

Our surroundings also offer plenty of opportunity to experience the charm of rural life – local villages, small farms, and friendly neighbors are part of our daily rhythm.

I’m always happy to share my knowledge and experience in areas like:
    • Tibetan Buddhism & meditation
    • Ayurveda & women’s health
    • Yoga (especially for women and mothers)
    • Life balance, motherhood & self-care

I love deep conversations and exchanging ideas – so I’m sure we’ll have plenty of meaningful chats, warm moments, and maybe even some spontaneous adventures together.

We are now starting again in 2026 with hosting Workawayers!

If you’d like to stay in your own lovely little house on our property, we would be happy to welcome you as part of our everyday life.

We ask for around 4 hours of help per day, 5 days a week, which you can usually organize quite flexibly to fit your rhythm.

There’s always something to do around the house and in the garden – especially from March onwards, when the gardening season begins. We love growing our own vegetables, so you’re very welcome to be part of that!

I also appreciate help in the household – mainly with cleaning, tidying, and cooking. It’s always more joyful to create and take care of things together.

People who enjoy cooking – especially vegetarian or vegan meals – are more than welcome! But don’t worry, my boys also enjoy the occasional meat dish, so we’re flexible and open.

I’m sure we’ll always find small projects and shared moments that suit your skills and interests – your presence and creativity will be a great addition to our home in any case.

Please note: We do not host smokers!

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You’ll be staying in a small, cozy garden house on our property. It has its own little kitchenette, a private shower, and a separate entrance. The space is suitable for one or two people and offers you privacy while still being close to our main house.

During the colder months, the garden house is heated with electric heaters – which unfortunately leads to very high energy costs. For this reason, we kindly ask our guests to be mindful of energy use. We usually heat to a maximum of 18–20°C.

If you’re coming from a warm country, please be aware that we can’t afford to keep the space very warm all day – and if significantly more heating is needed, we may ask for a contribution to the electricity bill.

That said, it is absolutely possible to stay here during winter – many of our past guests have done so and enjoyed the peaceful winter atmosphere. Just bring warm clothes and cozy socks, and you’ll be fine! 😊

    Rayo

We have one lovely cat named Rayo – a long-haired, nature-loving male cat who spends a lot of time outdoors but also enjoys relaxing indoors during the day.

He is very open to cuddles and affection, and he especially appreciates being brushed regularly to keep his fur nice and smooth.

Rayo is calm, independent, and usually makes friends quickly with our guests.
