    Description

We are a small backpackers hostel in the heart of Santo Domingo's colonial quarter. The hostel has 9 rooms and a roof terrace with a view of the ruins of the San Francisco Monastery, the first in the Americas.

The owners/managers are two friends: Claudia (UK) and Juan Carlos (Spain). We have two rescue cats and one Husky. We pride ourselves on supporting the community around us. We love recommending local businesses and working with our neighbours to keep the street clean and tidy.

Nearby we have the weekly Sunday "Bonye" concert - a free Son and Salsa concert set in the monastery ruins.

We are also a few minutes walk from all the bars, nightclubs and main sights of the Zona Colonial.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

You'll be immersed in Spanish and Dominican culture :)
We can give you an insight into life in the Dominican Republic, give you tips on what to do in the city and beyond.

Claudia is a passionate linguist and Juan Carlos is a talented chef :) We very often eat together and spend our evening relaxing on the terrace.

We hope to learn about how we can boost the aesthetic of our hostel, learn your language, and learn some new dishes :)
