I stayed at Kat's place in East Vancouver during the summer. Her house is in a great location, within walking distance to the SkyTrain station, which is just 10 minutes to downtown. It was comfortable for visiting the city. During my stay, I taught art to her kids, created family portraits for them, and painted a mural on the wall of her house

Staying with Kat was my first Workaway experience and I was not disappointed. I stayed a week and really enjoyed the house vibe. I stayed in the kids room as the attic access is for younger and skinnier people than me!
Kat lives a very busy life but was very welcoming, as were the rest of the household. I helped out with housework, renovation
… read more work and tidying up the studio. Kat's kids are awesome. I had some great conversations with the people in and out of the house. The place is very central and would be easy to get around via public transport. The park and lake across the road is lovely and the decks front and back of the house are great places to relax.
Francisco (Argentina) arrived the day after me and we bonded over me teaching him Aussie slang - the Fran's from the A's! Francisco and I joined Kat (and one of her many band's) at an event they were performing at in Maple Ridge called "Celebrate the Night". It was a fun experience and, despite the pouring rain, well attended.

This was a unique experience and that is what these platforms are designed for and on top of that Kat is an understanding person.

I stayed at Kat’s place for two weeks. It’s a decent place but you have to be open minded. Kat is friendly and flexible with the hours; she won’t interact much so you’ll have more freedom. The volunteers' room has three beds, but I was fortunate to have the kids' room to myself. Be prepared to wash your own linen and ask for towels upon arrival.

I assisted her with an event at a hotel and helped out around the house and cabaret. There was plenty of free time for my own activities. I also met Jarno, another workawayer who was there the same two weeks. He truly made my stay in Vancouver better 😊🙌🏼 (you can check out his feedback too!) Jarno is the best! 😉
Thanks Kat for letting me stay at your place!
I stayed at Kat's place for around 2 weeks. The place is very central, close to the subway that takes you downtown in no time. Trout Lake and the surrounding park are really nice as well. I enjoyed taking the dogs that were temporarily staying with us here for walks.
My tasks were mostly light construction work (such as filling walls with thermal

Just like Sofia, a Workaway friend who made my time here especially fun. She's awesome!! :)
Thanks for letting me stay!
Jarno is the best!! So skilled, very nice, great guy!

I only stayed for one day and one night. Overall the experience was not horrible. It was a place to sleep at. I just want others to be prepared to sleep in a quite small attic wich is also used as a storage space. There is one bed, a mattress on the floor in a notch over the entrance, and a sofa you can sleep on. To get there you have to go up a

You can definitely tell that she loves music and theatre. There's always people going in and out of the house and the dors are never locked. She also rents a room downstairs as an Airbnb. The location is quite nice. You can get to downtown with a train in no time and the station is only a few minutes from the house. The lake outside is verry pretty too and you can eat outside on the deck.
I am thankful that she let me stay at hers for a night.Harvest projects at a homestead cabin in Atikokan, Canada
