  Description

  We are Naomi and Aron. We live in the Flemish Ardennes together with our four chickens and our cat Nancy. We are both nature lovers and travelers. After years of traveling, partying and adventure, we have retreated to our oasis of peace in Horebeke. Here we start our mini farm with vegetable garden. We are also renovating the old house. We can use all the help we can get with this.
  
  Wij zijn Naomi en Aron. Samen met onze vier kippen en onze kat Nancy wonen we in de Vlaamse Ardennen.
  We zijn allebei natuurliefhebbers en reizigers. Na jaren reizen en feesten en avontuur hebben we ons terug getrokken in onze oase van rust in Horebeke.
  Hier starten we onze mini boerderij met moestuin. Ook renoveren we het oude huisje.
  
  Hierbij kunnen we alle hulp gebruiken.

  We stay in one of the smallest villages in Belgium. We are staying in an old Protestant hamlet, although we are not Protestant ourselves. Naomi was born here and it is a very close-knit community. There is a plaque with the history of the house in front of the door.
  
  We verblijven in 1 van de kleinste dorpen van België. We verblijven in een oud protestants gehuchtje, al zijn we zelf niet protestant. Naomi is hier wel geboren en het is een hele hechte gemeenschap. Er staat een plaatje met geschiedenis van het huis voor de deur.

  Help

  The help we need depends on the season and the period in which the workawayer comes. This mainly concerns help in the garden and with maintenance or renovation work. Help with cooking is also welcome, if the volunteer can cook well. Some examples of assignments you can receive: feeding the chickens, cleaning the chicken coop, picking apples, making jam, working in the vegetable garden, collecting nuts, cracking nuts, baking cake, going to the container park together, renovation tasks, mowing the lawn, pruning, DIY projects, helping with renovation tasks, feeding the cat, ... You can also be asked to help with the housework if there is no help needed in the garden due to the season.
  
  De hulp die we nodig hebben hangt af van het seizoen en de periode waarin de workawayer komt.
  Het gaat voornamelijk over hulp in de tuin en bij onderhoudswerken of verbouwwerken.
  Ook hulp bij koken is welkom, als de vrijwilliger goed kan koken.
  
  Enkele voorbeelden van opdrachten die je kan krijgen : de kippen eten geven, het kippenkot proper maken, appelen plukken, confituur maken, in de moestuin werken, noten rapen, noten kraken, cake bakken, samen naar het containerpark gaan, renovatiewerken, gras maaien, snoeien, DIY-projecten, helpen bij verbouwingswerken, de kat eten geven, ... Ook kan er gevraagd worden om te helpen in het huishouden als er omwille van het seizoen geen werk in de tuin is.

  Accommodation

  The workawayer can stay in our luxurious temple yurt. Here you have your own piece of the garden with your own privacy. You have your own fridge and kettle. You have a lovely fireplace and an oasis of peace. When cooking, we can eat together, but this is not with a fixed structure. Unlimited breakfast, coffee and tea are free. Most of the time we have too much food that we share. You can also always use the kitchen.
  
  
  De workawayer kan verblijven in onze luxe tempel yurt. Je hebt hier je eigen stukje van de tuin met eigen privacy. Je hebt een eigen frigo en waterkoker. Je hebt een heerlijk haardvuur en een oase van rust.
  Wanneer er gekookt wordt, kunnen we samen eten, maar dit is niet met een vaste structuur.
  
  Ontbijt, koffie en thee zijn onbeperkt gratis. Meestal hebben we voedsel te veel dat we delen.
  Je kunt ook altijd de keuken gebruiken.

  What else ...

  In your spare time you can enjoy beautiful walks in our Flemish Ardennes, because we are in the heart of it. You can also spend a day in Ghent, the nicest city in Belgium where it is buzzing with cultural activities. Naomi works in Ghent, so she can take you along or drop you off at the station. You are there in Ghent in 20 minutes! We are both social workers, so social by nature, but we also enjoy our peace and quiet at home. We therefore like to have someone who can also be alone, especially in the evenings.
  
  
  In de vrije tijd kan je prachtig wandelen in onze Vlaamse Ardennen, want we bevinden ons in het hartje er van. Je kunt ook een dagje naar Gent gaan, de leukste stad van België waar het bruist van culturele activiteiten. Naomi werkt in Gent, dus kan je meenemen, of afzetten aan het station. Daar ben je op 20 minuutjes in Gent!
  
  We zijn allebei sociaal werkers, dus sociaal van aard, maar thuis genieten we ook van onze rust. We hebben daarom graag iemand die ook goed alleen kan zijn, vooral 's avonds trekken we ons terug.
