    Description

Nestled in nature, we far more than a farm. It's a living, breathing community space where co-working, co-making, creativity, and connection come together. Whether you're looking to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself – or to roll up your sleeves and create something meaningful alongside motivated people – this is your place. Talking about farming, we are a small hobby farm growing different kinds of fruits and vegetables. Beside that we offer a home for three donkey, ducks and chickens. We aim to work with nature and not against it.

    What we're about:

We are home to a community garden, a hands-on workshop (metal, wood & art), upcoming biochar & composting projects, animals, a sauna, workshops and events, and a strong culture of co-creation and mental wellbeing. We believe that good work, good food, good people, and good nature belong together.

We are a peaceful retreat in the Austrian mountains, a warm community, home-cooked meals, access to our workshop and sauna, and plenty of space to think, grow, and be inspired.

Run by Florian, Thomas, Chiara and the whole Crew

We are happy to welcome you :)

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Cultural Exchange

Our home is, at its core, a place of exchange – so cultural exchange isn't something that happens on the side, it's woven into everything we do here.

We gather around the table, cook together, share meals, and talk – about life, ideas, projects, and dreams. Our community regularly brings together people from different backgrounds, whether through workshops, events, or simply the everyday rhythm of living and working side by side. Workawayers become a natural part of this mix, not guests on the outside looking in.

Vorarlberg itself has a lot to offer: a unique regional culture, stunning alpine nature, local markets, and a creative and sustainability-minded community that we're deeply connected to. We love introducing people to the region – whether that's a hike to a favourite spot, a visit to a local event, or just sharing what makes this corner of Austria so special.

From our side, we're genuinely excited to share what moves us most: our host is a trained mental trainer with a deep passion for mental health, personal growth, and helping people discover their own potential. Entrepreneurship is another big thread running through everything at our space – built on years of study and lived experience in building something from scratch. Whether you're navigating your own path, working on a project, or simply curious about what it takes to create something meaningful, there's a lot to explore and exchange here.

Beyond that, we're happy to share what we've learned about regenerative gardening, biochar & composting, working with wood and metal, and creating spaces that genuinely support people.
We believe that in every honest encounter, mutual learning happens naturally – and we deeply cherish that. Every person who comes here brings something we didn't know we were missing: a perspective, a skill, a way of seeing things, a recipe, a question that makes us think differently. That exchange is not a nice bonus – it's the whole point.

If you're curious, open-hearted, and ready to both contribute and receive – you'll feel right at home here with us.

  • Help

    Help

Your time at our place is a volunteering experience, driven by genuine interest. We're looking for people who want to be part of something. You're warmly welcome to get involved in whatever resonates with you: tending the garden, composting, caring for animals, cooking together, helping shape the space as a place of wellbeing and joy, contributing to workshops or events, crafting something in the workshop – or capturing the magic of daily life here for social media. A word about our events and workshops usually we host one creative festival in August at our farm with a lot of workshops and everything there is free and happens on a voluntary base. During the year sometimes workshops take place, based on the same principle. If you have an eye for photos, videos, or storytelling, we'd love your creativity.
Household life is a shared experience too – cooking, cleaning, and daily rhythms are something we navigate together. And beyond the farm, Vorarlberg's nature is right at your doorstep: hiking in the mountains, swimming in alpine pools, sleeping under the stars. All of this is part of the experience.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We offer private rooms in our historic farmhouse, each with its own character and charm. If you prefer something a little different, there's also the option to stay in our caravan, which comes with a wonderfully comfortable bed – a favourite for those who enjoy a bit more privacy or a cosier, more self-contained feel. And for those who love sleeping under the stars, you're very welcome to set up a hammock outside and spend the night in the open air.
Bathroom and toilet facilities are shared and located inside the farmhouse.
One thing to keep in mind: this is an old farmhouse, and like all old farmhouses, sounds travel. It can be beautifully quiet here, but voices and movement carry between rooms and spaces. We ask everyone to be considerate of each other – especially in the evenings and early mornings. It's something we navigate together with mutual respect, and it's very much part of what makes living here feel like a real community rather than a hotel.

We love food and we love sharing it – meals are a big part of the community feel here.

A few more things worth knowing

    Getting here:

Our place is easy to reach by public transport or car. The nearest train station is Rankweil – just let us know your arrival time and we're happy to organise a pick-up. If you're coming by car, parking is available on site.
By bus, the closest stop is Batschuns Gelber Schrofen, from where it's about a 10–15 minute walk to us. Please note that buses run during the day only. There is also an on-demand bus service (Rufbus) that can bring you directly to our door – a handy option for later arrivals or when the regular schedule doesn't quite fit.
    What we value:

    Values:
Our home is built on a few things we take seriously and try to live every day – optimism, good vibes, openness, honesty, clear communication, appreciation, and respectful interaction with each other, with nature, and with the animals here. We don't have a long list of rules, but these values are the foundation of everything. If they resonate with you, you'll feel at home here.
    Insurance & volunteering:

    Insurance:
Your time at our place is a voluntary experience in the true sense – we're not an employer and this is not a job. For that reason, we ask all Workawayers to have their own personal accident insurance in place before arriving and to provide proof of coverage. This protects you and gives everyone peace of mind. If you're unsure what kind of coverage you need, feel free to reach out and we'll do our best to point you in the right direction.

    Can host digital nomads

Our home is a genuinely good base for digital nomads – and we love having people around who carry their work with them. We have fast, reliable WiFi throughout the property, so you can comfortably work remotely, join video calls, or run your digital projects without compromise. And when it comes to finding your spot: there are many different spaces to choose from – indoors and out. Whether you prefer a quiet corner inside, a table in the workshop, or your laptop open under the open sky with mountain views, you'll find a place that fits your mood and your workflow. One thing worth knowing: We live in an old farmhouse, full of character – and old farmhouses have their own acoustics. It can be wonderfully quiet here, but voices tend to carry between rooms. It's not a noisy place, but it's not a sealed office either. We ask everyone to be mindful of each other when it comes to calls or conversations, and in return you'll find that a little mutual consideration goes a long way. If you're someone who values community over isolation and can work with some gentle background life around you – you'll fit right in.

    Space for parking camper vans

Yes, you're welcome to arrive by camper or caravan – we have a large parking area with enough space to set up comfortably. We don't have dedicated camper facilities, but we can potentially organise access to electricity via an extension cable. Shower and toilet are shared inside the farmhouse, just like for everyone else staying here. Simple, honest, and very much in the spirit of our community.
