    Description

I live in a native Shuar community in Ecuador in the province of Morona Santiago near Limon Indanza. We are in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, living in a primary forest where wisdom is still present. We are launching agroforestry/permaculture projects in order to produce healthy and commercial Amazonian food. Our goal is to build an economic model in coherence with the Shuar identity, respecting ancestral values, without destroying nature. What you will experience here is a real cultural exchange.

    Accommodation

We slept in a traditional hut called “Jea” in the middle of the jungle. The shower is the best in the world = a pure river with fresh water. There are three-story bunk beds and also the possibility of hanging your hammock. The accommodation is shared with the other volunteers, there are no single rooms. The people of the community sleep separately in their houses. There is a well-equipped kitchen available for cooking. A solar panel is not used to power the hut. There is a blender and a juice extractor and a refrigerator available. In the future we plan to have a small refrigerator to store things. Meals are generally made together with the other volunteers.
