    Description

Hi I'm AK, a leadership coach, movement chaplain, storyteller, and doctoral student currently living in a quiet part of Phuket, Thailand.

After spending years working in high-capacity leadership and burnout recovery spaces across Asia, Africa, and North America, I’m now building a slower, more intentional season of life centered around healing, meaningful dialogue, creative storytelling, and sustainable ways of showing up online.

I’m currently looking for one emotionally mature, creatively thoughtful person to join me for a longer-term reflective storytelling and creative collaboration exchange.

This is not a high-performance creator role built around algorithms, pressure, or constant output.

It is also not a casual hostel-style work exchange centered around minimal responsibility and maximum travel.
This space is intentionally slower, calmer, and more relational.

I’m looking for someone who feels excited by meaningful conversation, authentic storytelling, thoughtful creative process, and sustainable rhythms of work and rest.

The collaboration centers around helping me capture and shape long-form, non-performative content through filmed conversations, reflective dialogue, storytelling support, light editing, and creative organization.

The overall rhythm is calm, collaborative, and deeply human.

Three-month stays prioritized, with options for shorter or longer stays on a case by case basis. As a solo woman living and hosting in Thailand, I especially value creating a calm, grounded, respectful environment for other solo women traveling or moving through transitional seasons of life.

    TYPES OF HELP
I share more about the role in the " help" section below, however in general the types of things you'd be doing include the following:
    - Filming and recording reflective conversations
    - Light editing and content shaping
    - Organizing creative workflows and publishing rhythms
    - Storytelling and creative collaboration
    - Occasional household organization or practical support
    - Helping maintain calm, functional, intentional shared spaces

    NEXT STEPS
If this opportunity resonates with you, please mention “Voice & Story Doula” in your message and I’ll send over the full overview document and application process.

Because this opportunity involves shared living, creative collaboration, and relational trust, I take the alignment process seriously and move thoughtfully rather than quickly.

The process typically includes an application form, a short video submission, and one or more voice/video conversations before confirming a stay.

I also tend to book at least 1-2 months in advance whenever possible.

I’ve put a great deal of intentionality into creating this experience, so I kindly ask applicants to read the full listing carefully before reaching out.

    CULTURAL EXCHANGE & LEARNING

I deeply value meaningful conversations, cultural exchange, thoughtful storytelling, and creating spaces where people can slow down enough to reconnect with themselves, their creativity, and what matters most to them.

This experience may be especially nourishing for someone in a transitional season of life who wants space for reflection, creative exploration, intentional living, and collaborative learning.

While I tend to keep a quieter rhythm day-to-day, I genuinely enjoy learning from thoughtful people from different backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences.

    WHAT THIS OPPORTUNITY INVOLVES

This role is less about traditional content creation and more about thoughtful witnessing, storytelling, and creative collaboration.

    Together we may:
    - Record reflective conversations and long-form content
    - Capture natural moments, discussions, or walk-and-talk style recordings
    - Shape longer conversations into shorter clips or written reflections
    - Organize sustainable publishing rhythms for platforms like YouTube, Substack, and LinkedIn
    - Explore themes related to healing, purpose, leadership, faith, burnout recovery, identity, creativity, and meaningful living
    - Occasionally support light household organization or creative projects around the home

The rhythm here is slower, thoughtful, and designed to support depth over constant output.

WHO THIS IS A GOOD FIT FOR

This may be a beautiful fit for someone who is:
    - Emotionally grounded and self-aware
    - Reflective, curious, and thoughtful
    - Comfortable with depth and meaningful dialogue
    - Collaborative without being overbearing
    - Independent, communicative, and proactive
    - Creatively engaged and naturally observant
    - Able to balance shared space with healthy autonomy
    - Excited by authentic storytelling and human-centered creative work
    - Genuinely "at home" behind the camera, drawing out other people’s stories, and supporting meaningful creative work without needing to be the center of attention.
    - In a slower or transitional season of life where meaningful creative collaboration feels nourishing

This is probably not the best fit for someone primarily seeking:
    - Constant social activity or nightlife
    - A party environment
    - Highly transactional work exchange dynamics
    - Hustle culture or high-performance creator culture
    - Free accommodation with minimal engagement

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You’ll share a quiet 3-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom home with me (female, late 30s) in a calmer part of Chalong, Phuket.

The home is tropical, spacious, and intentionally grounded in slower, more peaceful living rhythms.

Independent rhythms are respected here. This is not a hyper-social household, and there is no expectation of constant interaction or communal hanging out.

    The household is:
    - smoke-free
    - drug-free
    - generally dry
    - vegan inside the home

    You’ll have:
    - a private bedroom
    - desk/work area
    - fan
    - mini fridge/simple kitchenette setup
    - laundry access
    - shared bathroom (mostly private, though occasionally used if guests visit briefly)

You’ll also have access to an outdoor kitchen area, garden space, and a developing creative workspace within the home.

The property is located near the water, local cafes, gyms, markets, and wellness spaces.

    PRIVATE UNIT OPTION

I also have a private unit available for longer-term stays.

For aligned applicants, I may offer the space at a significantly reduced rental rate in exchange for approximately one day per week of practical household support (cleaning, organizing, DIY projects, property care, etc.).

    The unit includes:
    - separate entrance
    - living area
    - kitchen
    - bedroom with ensuite bathroom
    - additional half bath

Details shared privately with aligned applicants.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

During your free time, there’s plenty of space to explore the island, spend time near the water, visit local cafes and markets, take movement or wellness classes, hike, journal, rest, create, or simply slow down.

Phuket has a unique blend of tropical beauty, wellness culture, local Thai life, and creative energy.

The best way to get around the island is typically by motorbike, though bicycles and ride apps are also options.

While I keep a fairly independent rhythm day-to-day, I genuinely enjoy occasional shared meals, walks, or exploring parts of the island together when it feels natural.
